13. Explain why LC oscillators are not suitable for low frequency applications.
14. Explain how Frequency stability of oscillators can be improved
Answer :- i. By enclosing in constant temperature chamber
ii. Maintain constant voltage by using zener diode
iii. By reducing loading effect using voltage follower (isolator which has high input
impedance and low output impedance)
15. A RC phase shift oscillator has R = 1kΩ and C = 0.01 μF. Calculate the frequency of oscillation.

1. Write at least five advantages of negative feedback?


2. What is the advantage of having large emitter resistance in differential amplifier? And draw a circuit
minimizes temperature sensitivity of differential amplifier and improves gain and CMRR.
3. A differential amplifier has 𝑎 𝑣𝑜𝑙𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑓 150 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎 𝐶𝑀𝑅𝑅 𝑜𝑓 𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑒 . The input signal to one
of the inputs is 60mV and the other input is grounded and there is 1mV of noise in each input. Find
i. the output signal and
ii. the output noise
4. An amplifier having a gain of 100 has 9% negative feedback applied in series with input signal.
Calculate the overall stage with feedback. If a supply voltage variation causes the gain with feedback
to fall by 100%. Determine the percentage change in voltage gain of the amplifier? And justify your
answer.
5. Determine the overall voltage gain, of the feedback connection shown below. If𝐴 = 500, 𝑅𝑜𝑢𝑡 =
2Ω, 𝑅𝐿 = 30000Ω 𝑎𝑛𝑑 5% of the feedback voltage is feedback to the input side

6. Calculate the overall differential mode voltage gain, common mode voltage gain, input and output
impedance of the unbalanced output differential.
Assume that 𝑅𝑐1 = 𝑅𝑐2 100𝑘Ω, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑤𝑜 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝛽 = 100,𝑉𝑐𝑐 = 9𝑣, 𝑉𝐸𝐸 =
−9𝑣 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑠𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑜𝑛
