    Introduction

    The School of Humanities had its genesis at the 8th Meeting of the Board of Management, held
    on the 20th May 1988 (Item 8.10) under which various programmes of Sanskrit discipline are
    offered. Sanskrit is the oldest language in the world. It is a scientific language as well as
    universal. The overall knowledge of ancient India is covered in this language. From Vedas to
    the modern-day Sanskrit literature, Sanskrit is still systematic and well-organized in its present
    form. The ancient knowledge, science, techniques and technology has been written in Sanskrit
    language by our sages and acharyas.

    The programmes of Sanskrit discipline are aimed at providing high quality education to the
    learners as per the Indian Education Policy-2020 as well as their holistic development and
    development of multi-dimensional talent. These programmes are to provide new employment
    opportunities according to modern times by connecting Sanskrit students with the mainstream.
    Therefore, along with the ancient knowledge tradition of Sanskrit language, grammar, Vedas,
    philosophy, astrology, etc., emphasis has also been laid on skill-development through
    programmes like vedic mathematics, bhartiya kalganana, vastu shastra, ancient science and also
    skill courses in media and e-commerce, as per needs of the present time.
