Using This Template

Important: Each country/state/location may have different payslip requirements,
so it is highly recommended that you contact an accountant to advise your

Edit Company and Employee Information

Edit the company and employee information in the header and footer.

Payslip Worksheet Protection

To prevent accidental changes to parts of the Payslip that shouldn't be changed,
the payslip worksheet has Worksheet Protection turned on. To turn off worksheet
protection, go to Review > Unprotect Sheet.

Customize Types of Earnings and Deductions

Edit the column labels in the YearToDate worksheet to customize the types of
Earnings and Deductions. If you need more options for different types of earnings
and deductions, unhide the hidden rows and columns.

If you need to add rows/columns, you will need to modify the template and
update many of the formulas in the worksheet (not a simple task).

The hours, rates, and amounts in the Payslip are updated automatically when
you select a new Pay Date at the top of the Payslip worksheet.

Each Pay Period ...

1) Enter the date, pay period, hours, and amounts in a new row in the YearToDate
worksheet.
2) In the Payslip worksheet, select the new date from the drop-down in the Pay
Date cell at the top of the Payslip.
3) Verify, print, and send the payslip with the check.

Sending a PDF of the Payslip (instead of printing)

One of the easiest ways to send a payslip to an employee electronically is to
create a PDF and send it via email. You might do this if you use ACH to do direct
deposits instead of mailing checks.

To create a PDF
1) Select the Payslip worksheet
2) Go to File > Save As and select .pdf as the filetype.
3) Email the PDF to the employee.
