and areas for growth; (f) employing classroom management strategies that promote
positive, engaging learning environments.

Goal #1: To gain confidence in classroom management by using various

management techniques and consistently reinforcing appropriate
boundaries for students to ensure a positive learning environment.
What will this look like for me as a teacher?
I will be utilizing various classroom management techniques such as wait time, attention-getters,
and setting clear boundaries for students to create a positive learning environment by minimizing
unwanted behavior. Following through on classroom expectations and boundaries is how I will
achieve gaining classroom management confidence. I will remain consistent with expectations
and address behaviors when they occur, if not before.
What will this look like for my students?
I will take a proactive approach to behavior as opposed to reactive, and this will minimize
behaviors in the classroom which minimizes distractions and maintains a space for learning.
I am confident that using various techniques will help me to better understand my teacher
persona which will make me more confident to help students learn and focus on learning.

Goal #2: To practice being a reflective practitioner by reflecting daily

and weekly on my teaching abilities and practices. This will improve my
confidence to effectively lead a productive learning environment.
What will this look like for me as a teacher?
I will practice reflecting on my lessons and teaching day to improve on my skills and make
adjustments when needed. I will also reflect weekly as taking time to reflect on the week as a
whole can give insight to areas of strength and areas for improvement. It is helpful to keep these
records to compare week to week to track progress as well.
I will practice reflection by writing comments of strength and improvement for my students
before it is time to complete report cards. By thinking about their progress and levels earlier, it
gives more insight to how far they have come and areas for improvement.
Reflection is also a major part of creating ISP’s and I will be involved and contributing to the
process of making/adjusting them for students.
I will be collaborating with other educators to seek feedback about my teaching practices to gain
others’ perspectives on my areas of strengths and weaknesses.
What will this look like for my students?
By being intentional with reflection as a teacher, it will benefit my students because their needs
are being thought of on an individual level and a class level. Reflection is an active and
intentional practice that helps in improving lessons each time for student learning.
By seeking out other professionals’ advice on my teaching practices, I will become more aware
of my strengths and weaknesses which will help me adjust my lessons to help students learn.
