COC 1: Install and Configure

1. Disassembly/Assembly Computer Hardware (make sure it turns-on after). > Win7


2. Creating Image or ISO File (from CD/ DVD Installer)
a. Download WIN ISO or POWER ISO App on the internet and Install on your PC
b. Insert Win7 or Win Server 2008 R2 DVD installer(make sure you have DVD Rom/Drive on your PC)
c. Run WIN ISO or POWER ISO Application on your desktop
d. Click “Make” (I’m using Win ISO App)
e. Select CD/DVD Drive: (DVD Installer Win server 2008 r2 )
f. Output Format: ISO Files .iso
g. Select File name: Desktop
h. Click “Ok” button to begin making an ISO File
i. Finish
2.1. Creating Bootable USB Drive using Rufus
Using Rufus (im using version 2.15)
a. Insert USB Flash Drive with 8GB capacity (minimum requirements recommended)
b. Run Rufus application
Device: USB Flash Drive 8GB
Partition scheme….. : MBR partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI
File system: NTFS
Cluster size: 4096 bytes (Default)
New volume label: Win7 or Win server 2008 R2
Format Options: Default
ISO Image: (Browse your image file or iso file on the location created. Eg: win server 2008 r2).
c. Click “Start” to begin copying ISO file
d. Close when Finish

3. Installation of Windows Server 2008 R2 using bootable flash Drive(Method 1)


a. Insert Bootable USB Flash
b. Restart PC and quickly hit BIOS key (Eg, delete, f2, f10, f11,f12 depending on your computer
manufactured) change boot priority as USB Flash Drive in BIOS setup or Boot device options.
c. Choose USB Flash Drive Boot priority first>enter to begin
4. Installation of Windows Server 2008 R2 using CD/DVD installer (Method 2)
a. Insert CD/DVD windows Installer in a CD/DVD Drive/ROM.
b. Restart PC and quickly hit BIOS key (eg, delete, f2, f10, f11,f12 depending on your
computer manufactured) change boot priority as CD/DVD drive/rom in BIOS setup or
Boot device options.
c. Choose CD/DVD Drive/ROM Boot priority first>enter to begin>press any key….

>During installing of windows 7 or windows server 2008 R2:


Hit “SHIFT + F10” = Command Prompt
Type “taskmgr” = task manager
Right Click “Setup”
Go to Process
Highlight > Rightclick
Set Priority = High
Change

(The purpose is to speed up installation)

5. Install 3rd Party Applications


a. Install Drivers (Wireless/LAN, Graphics, Sound/Audio etc..)
b. Install Antivirus /MS Application/Browser(Optional)

1. Splice all the cable needed on the diagram above.


>Create Network Cables
- (5) Straight-Through cables (PC to switch, router to pc, router to switch, switch to panel)
- Crossover cable (to be used in PC to PC Setup) if needed.
2. Router Configuration (im using tplink TL-WR841N)
> Turn on Tplink wireless router
> reset Tplink wireless router first
> Connect Tplink wireless router to Desktop/Laptop using straight cable.
> run command prompt or “cmd” on your computer
> Type “ipconfig” hit enter
> Look for the default gateway for Ethernet Adapter or Wireless LAN Adapter IP Address:
> Open web browser e.g IE, Firefox or Chrome
> Type default address http://192.168.0.1/ in an address bar
Change (Service set Identifier) SSID and password
>”Network” tab >
*WAN >Dynamic/Static>save
*MAC Clone>
*LAN >
> “Wireless” tab >
*Wireless Settings >Enable/Disable SSID Broadcast>save
*Wireless Security>WPA/-Personal (recommended)>wireless password>save
(Without authentication - no password) or( with authentication -with password)
*Wireless MAC Filtering> enable/disabled>allow and deny>save(MAC Authentication)
*Wireless Advanced>
> “DHCP” tab > Enable/Disable
