Between the two boatlandings (west face and south east corner) a interconnecting walkway is to be
installed, this is to be installed prior to lifting the west module topside. It consists of 3 panels of offshore
crating which will need to be lifted and clipped in position. Please refer to drawing TH-4108-90-106 for all
details of the walkway.
5. TOPSIDE INSTALLATION
41/8 is a hub platform, so it requires a larger than standard topside, as this topside is too big for DLB
Lewek Champion to install in a single piece it has been split into two topside modules, the West Module
fully ties into the jacket and houses the four legs which are attached to the jacket. The East Module is
essentially a deck extension which hangs off the West Module.
The West Module is the larger of the two modules to be installed and is near the capacity of the DLB
Lewek Champion main crane.
The specific weather criteria for the West Module installation is included in section 1.4 of this document.
The West Module is to be lifted in a stern lift condition and placed on the jacket. This procedure is to follow
the stern lift stern set option of the Installation Manual – Structures (16002-EMA-OP-PFP-0001)
Note: * The factor weight and DAF of 2.9% subject to weather criteria in engineered lift study and refer to
report 16002-EMA-EN-PFA-0007 REV.0

The East Module is designed as a deck extension to the West Module. Both modules are fitted with a hang
off frame arrangement. Once hung, the East Module will rest against two pad contact points on East face
of the West Module. The East Module can be fully de-rigged after hanging.

Module (top right) showing the hang off trunnions. Bottom left showing the recepticle, bottom right

As the East Module is different from a standard well head platform configuration, specific task steps are to
be followed for its installation, see 5.3 for East Module installation procedure.

East module does not have standard seafastening (i.e 4 stabbing cones with strongback plates). It consists
of 4 leg stabbing cones and 6 diagonal braces. The two braces closest to the bow will have to be removed
by use of the main crane prior to rigging up the main block.
Following the rig up of the crane, the starboard bow brace will have to be cut and lowered using a chain
block. All other braces can remain in place while the deck is lifted after cutting the fastening plates.
