i) This question paper has 5 sections. All questions are compulsory.

v) Section D has 4 questions carrying 5 marks each with internal choice in 2 questions.
vi) Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (4 marks each) with sub
parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively. An internal choice has been
provided in the 2 marks questions of this section.

32. If two equal chords of a circle intersect within the circle, prove that the line joining point of
intersection to the centre makes equal angles with the chord.

Prove that the angle subtended by an arc at the centre is double the angle subtended by it at
any point on the remaining part of the circle.
33. In a lending library the charges are as follows. For the first five days the charge is Rs. 10, and
thereafter for each subsequent day there is a fine of Rs. 5. Write a linear equation in two
variables taking x as the total charge and y as the number of days for which a book is kept with
the member. Express it in the form ax + by + c = 0. Also find the charge paid by a person
who has returned a book after

36. UFOs are any unexplained moving object observed in the sky, especially one assumed by
some observers to be of extra-terrestrial (coming from a place outside the planet earth) origin.
Lakshay, a student of class IX, has an interest in space science. So, he makes a shape of UFO
which is shown below. In the figure, ABCD is a rectangle and the equilateral triangles APB, BCQ,
CDR and ADS are described on its sides. Answer the following questions that arises in the mind
of Lakshay by looking at the figure.
a) Find the area of rectangle ABCD.
b) Find the area of ∆ APB.

37. The bar graph shows the result of a survey to test


water resistant watches made by different companies.
Each of these companies claimed that their watches
were water resistant. After a test the below results

c) Find the ratio of number of watches that leaked
to the number of watches tested for company A.

38. Read the following passage and answer the following questions:
Four friends went for a picnic at a hill station, since they did not get a proper hotel in the city,
they decided to make a conical tent at a park. They were carrying 200m2 cloth with them. As
shown in the figure they have made the tent of height 8m and base diameter 12m.
The remaining cloth was used for the floor. (use  = 3.14)
a) What is the slant height of the tent?
b) How much cloth was used for making the tent?
c) How much cloth was used for the floor?

What is the volume of the air present in the tent?


