Chapter I
Introduction
According to DepEd Order 30, s. 2017, Section 1 One of the goals of the K to 12 Basic
Education Program is to develop in learners the competencies, work ethic, and values relevant to
pursuing further education and/or joining the world of work. To achieve greater congruence
between basic education and the nation’s development targets, Work Immersion, a required
subject has been incorporated into the curriculum. This subject will provide learners with
opportunities.
Therefore, work immersion can be the best avenue in honing and developing skills of the
students. This practice exposes students to different fields and authentic operations of companies,
institutions, and businesses. Likewise, this will serve as their stepping stone in gaining new
knowledge on their specialization and later be of great assistance in their chosen curriculum

work simulation of their chosen track to give them greater opportunities to apply their
knowledge and capabilities. Participating students are trained, having close mentorship in their
work environment with industry supervisors for a period of 80–320 hours during their two years
of study. Learners cannot exceed eight working hours per day, anytime between 06.00-18.00
hours. To prepare for Work Immersion, learners have to take four specialized subjects where
they can gain experience in a work environment related to their field of specialization.
This study aimed to determine the challenges encountered and performances of Grade 12
TVL- Home Economics students at Cesar C. Tan Memorial National High School (CCTMNHS). Also,

The main purpose of this research study is to determine what possible solution may be
applicable to address the recurring issues on work immersion and be able to increase the
employability of technical-vocational students. This will also measure the students’ profile which
includes the students’ age, gender, and economic status. In addition to that, the researcher will
conduct interviews guided with certain questions that would further address the issues and
concerns about work immersion and relatively increase the employability of technical-vocational
graduates.

Moreover Dagatan (2017) said that this work immersion provides learners with opportunities to

leading initiatives. People believe that work immersion is important to the holistic growth of
each learner. This is through creating learning materials that are aligned with the K to 12
curriculum and by providing educators an avenue to continually learn and excel in their fields.
All these are done for their shored vision, to help build the nation through engaging and

CHAPTER 3
Methodology
This chapter shows the methods and techniques of the study, the population and samples
the data gathering procedure, and also the statistical treatment of the data.
a. Research Design
The researcher use descriptive design and gathered information through the use of survey
b. Research Locale
This study was conducted in Cesar C. Tan Memorial National High School situated at the
education in the locality. It offers complete Junior High School(JHS) and Senior High School (SHS)
Programs.
c. Research Respondents/Participants
The respondents of this study were taken from the Grade 12 TVL School students of
CCTMNHS . Specifically, the respondents were composed of 387 out 743 total population of Grade
d. Research Instrument
Thesequestions allow the participant to voice their feelings and notions freely. These questionsare not
based on pre-determined responses, giving the respondents an opportunity toexpress what they feel is
right, and often provide real, perceptional, and at times, startling proposals. This kind of
The researchers will prepare a letter of approval regarding the distribution of the
questions to the respondents to be approved by the adviser of the research. When approved, the
researchers will begin the dissemination of the questionnaires to respondents and will retrieve the
questionnaire right after. The researchers will discuss the content of the questionnaire to the
respondents if necessary. Then, the researchers will gather the data and will analyze through the use
of a certain statistical treatment of data. After analyzing the tabulated data, the researchers will arise
in the relationships of canteen services and the level of satisfaction of the respondents.
f. Analysis of Data
The data was analyzed by means of Thematic Analysis. This kind of analysis can be used to make
sense of seemingly unrelated material. It can be used to analyse qualitative information and to
systematically gain knowledge and empathy about a person, an interaction, a group, a situation, an
organization or a culture. This method of analyzation is applied during problem framing. Thematic
analysis helps researchers move from a broad reading of the data toward discovering patterns and framing
Once the data was collected, the data was then analyzed, categorized and organized into themes
and further sub-themes which emerged through reviewing process. The next stage involved interpreting
the data by identifying any reoccurring themesthroughout and highlighting any similarities and
differences in the data. The final stage involved data verification, this process involves a process checking
validity of understanding and rechecking the transcripts and codes again, thus allowing the researcher to
