Aptitude Test Blueprint: 2024 - 25
Class XI

SBS-AFPS provides training and preparation for the students of the 9th to 12th standards for a successful
enrolment into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Army/ Indian Navy/ Indian Air Force as
well as other services in the uniform.

Admission Process:

1. The admission process will have Two rounds.


● First Round: Written Test
● Second Round: Physicals, Personal Interview and Medical Screening
The written examination will consist of 60 multiple choice questions to be answered in 3 hours.
To qualify the examination, students need to obtain a minimum of 25% marks in each section
and a minimum of 40% aggregate marks. The distribution of questions is as under:

~ Duration of the written test will be 3 hours.
~ There will be negative marking for answers marked wrongly.

Only Shortlisted applicants from Round 1 will be invited for Round 2.

3. Second Round
● Physical fitness test
i. 800 mtrs – With a cut-off - 7 mins for boys and 8 mins for girls.
ii. 100 mtrs sprint – With a cut-off - 18 sec for boys and 19 sec for girls.
iii. Push-ups – With a cut-off - 10 for boys and 5 for girls.
iv. Sit Ups – With a cut-off –25 for both boys and girls.
v. Shuttle – With a cut-off - 12 for boys and 11 for girls.
A candidate will be awarded 2 marks for passing in each test and zero marks for
failing in a test. A candidate has to score 50% marks to qualify in the physical tests.

● Personal Interview and communication skills test


All candidates appearing for the screening will be put through a personality test
&interview, and tested for communication skills (oral & written). It will consist of:
 Personal Information questionnaire
 Paragraph / Essay Writing
 Elocution
 Personal Interview

● Medical Screening
During Round II itself, comprehensive medical check will be carried out by one of the
Medical Doctor/ Practitioner either from the Defence or otherwise within the school
campus or in nearby Govt. hospital.
Some of the must medical standards which will not be compromised are as under:
a. Height – Minimum 152 cm for girls and for boys, minimum 157 cm.
b. Weight – As per height and as per the medical standards specified.
c. Eye sight:
a. The distance vision (corrected) should be 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9
in the worse eye.
b. Myopia and Hypermetropia should not be more than 2.0 D including
astigmatism.
d. Tattoo – None on the body
e. Flat Foot, Knock Knees and Colour Blindness – Not acceptable.

** Note: Candidates who do not clear Medicals will be declared UNFIT and their
candidature for admission into SBS-AFPS will not be considered.
