National Science Month Celebration


Accomplishment Report
September 2023

School Name: Tuburan National High School


I. Executive Summary:
There were nine different activities conducted in Tuburan National High
School. These were the following: Science Quiz Bee, Poster Making Contest, Collage
Making Contest, Physics Olympic Games, Jingle Contest and Futuristic 2023.
Science Month launching was conducted last September 15, 2023.Science Quiz
Bee, Poster Making Contest, Collage Making Contest were conducted last
September 25, 2023 in the morning and in the afternoon was the Culminating
Program. The said event became successful with the help of all the teachers and
School In-Charge.
II. Introduction:
The Science Month Celebration for this year has the theme “Agham at
Teknolohiya: Sandigan ng Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan at Kinabukasan”’.
The science month is usually celebrated for the month of September which
encouraged the students to participate physically. Science month is not just a
“celebration” but it is about showcasing the talents and skills of every student in
terms of innovation and discovery. This also enables students to enjoy science
concepts and to engage them on scientific issues.
III. Objectives:
1. To encourage active participation of students as well as teachers in the
National Science Month Celebration.
2. To empower and cultivate creativity among the learners.
3. To enhance scientific knowledge in doing activities.
4. To promote awareness on the state of technologies for the sustainable
development.
5. To instill environmental cleanliness, proper garbage disposal and values to
students.
IV. Accomplishments:
A. Science Quiz Bee:

The Science Quiz Bee held last September 25, 2023. The science quiz bee
was divided into three phases: Easy, Average and Difficult Rounds. Each
level was composed of ten questions. Participants have thirty seconds to
answer. There were four groups in the Science Quiz Bee. Each group was
represented by every grade level. The group three was eliminated in the easy
round. The group two was eliminated in the average round. The group one
and group four fought in the difficult round. The group four was the winner.
The participants were Crecelyn S. Villaverde, Shaira S. Apus, Jonard Y.
Casipong, Hazel Gaabon and Phoebe Suzainne Cajilla. The science quiz bee
helps them to test, enhance and develop their knowledge in science.

B. Poster Making Contest:

The students create a poster that displays their idea about the theme.
The Poster Making Contest was facilitated by Ms. Laarni B. Sabellina. The
contest was participated by each grade level. First place was Xairah C.
Tolentino (Grade 10), second place was Myren C. Aput (Grade 12) and the
third place was Ashly D. Sumahon (Grade 9).

C. Collage Making Contest:

The Collage Making Contest was facilitated by Ms. Laarni B. Sabellina. The
contest was participated by each grade level. First place was Michael Jay V.
Catalan (Grade 10), second place was Daffodel Isis C. Colanag (Grade 12)
and third place was Dianne Mae B. Gambuta (Grade 9).

D. Physics Olympic Games

1. Tallest Sand Tower

The tallest Sand Tower was facilitated by Mrs. Maricel M. Estrosos. The
tallest Sand Tower was participated by each grade level. The winners
were Lejaymight F. Damanon and Renz Clieford Gayomali, grade 10
students.

2. Paper Airplane

The Paper Airplane was facilitated by Mrs. Maricel M. Estrosos. The said
game was represented by each grade level. The winner was Jasper G.
Manuel, a grade 11 student.

3. Large Barge

The Large Barge was facilitated by Ms. Krezel Marie M. Salva. It was
represented by each grade level. Rhomiel C. Legaspi and Ced Rovin
Lauron were the winners, grade 8 students.

4. Egg Drop

Egg Drop was facilitated by Ms. Krezel Marie M. Salva. It was represented
by each grade level. The winners were James Cedric M. Dablio and Jean
B. Otoc, grade 11 students.

E. Jingle Making Contest

Jingle Making Contest was represented by each grade level. First place was
the grade 10, second place was the grade 9 and the third place was the
grade 8.The judges were Mr. Edwin O. Mamba (School In-Charge) and Ms.
Melshe Quira C. Yañez (Academic Coordinator).

F. Search for Mr. and Ms. Futuristic 2023:

The Search was participated by each grade level. Mr. Futuristic was Judiler
V. Sinoyan (Grade 10), First Runner Up was John Paul Jade Lagusan (Grade
9) and Second Runner Up was Chim B. Alisbo. Ms. Futuristic 2023 was Jay-
an Chavez (Grade 9), First Runner Up was Franchiette Dablio (Grade 10) and
Second Runner Up was Daphney Orasan(Grade 12).The judges were Mr.
Edwin O. Mamba and Ms. Melshe Quira C. Yañez.

V. Challenges and Lessons Learned:


The challenges we encountered during the science month celebration were
lacked of budget for the materials for the Physics Olympics Games and the Prizes
for the winners. The lessons learned were materials must be ready in August and
facilitators must provide the materials for the Physics Olympic Games.
VI. Future Plans:
The science teachers must prepare the materials and prizes in August.
Teachers must conduct a meeting and agreed the criteria in every contest.
Facilitators must conduct a briefing a day before the Physics Olympic Games.

VII. Recognition and Acknowledgments:


I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to Mr. Edwin O. Mamba for
his sincere guidance and advice to complete the activities successfully. To my co-
science teachers for providing me with all of the necessary resources and support
to all activities. To all teachers of Tuburan National High School and SPTA Officers
for financial support. Finally, I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who
contributed to this science month celebration success.
