TITLE Five-Month SLAC PLAN for Reading Comprehension Program


Rationale Based on the results on learners’ assessment in reading and reading comprehension the Professional Development of Teachers was focused
on upskilling the teachers knowledge and practices on how to encourage learners to read in school and even at home.
The topics aim to develop students’ reading habit and positive attitudes in reading , which is necessary for enhancing their reading and
comprehension abilities. Consistent reading practice greatly affect their competence in reading as well as in understanding what they’ read.
Teachers’ and parents’ encouragement , proper guidance and closed supervision will help a lot in developing learners’ positive views in
reading. The books that they read should contains topics that can catch their interest so that love for reading will be develop in them. Through
reading with comprehension their academic performance in school will improve,
Program This programs aims to improve the participants’ competence and performance.
Description Application of knowledge and skills learned from the session will be the stairway for achieve positive outcomes in reading comprehension.
By the end of the session the participants will be able to:
a. apply the knowledge gained from the session.
b. monitor the learners’ reading ability
C .make a reading profile to determine the learners’ progress in reading
d. provide a checklist to the learners for monitoring
