of the story or text you listen to. In speaking and reading, it is important to
produce the beginning and final sounds of a word.

process. It is an informational text. It uses facts and statistical information and
examples.

A Birthday Surprise

Lance wakes up early. It is his birthday today. Everybody greets

him on his special day. Grandfather calls him and wants him to come
to the living room.
Grandfather wants to give him a bicycle on Lance’s birthday. It
is blue and shiny. He wraps the bicycle, places it inside a big box and
hides it behind the sofa.
Lance rans towards the living room. He sees grandfather smiling
and greets him. He asks Lance to look for his gift. Lance sees the big,
brown box. Lance jumps with joy as he opens the box and sees the
shiny blue bike.
Lance feels so happy. He hugs his grandfather and says thank
you to him. He loves his grandfather.
Lance rides his bicycle with pride in the yard. He is very happy
with grandfather’s gift. It is truly a birthday surprise.
