Assignment Title:
“The Future of Healthcare after the impact of the Corona Pandemic”

Participant’s Name: Doaa Hussien Awad

ID: se600248163

Introduction
After the pandemic effect of the corona on the last couple of years the word shocked with many
several facts that mainly the healthcare have to face and to be rapidly developed to cope with the
aura of digitalization on the now days also having a proactive strategies to be ready as a main step
on the health care system and to invest on the R&D scientific departments to work previously and
proactively.

Main Body

After researches the countries have urged to quickly invest in strategies toward improving the
resilience of their health systems for future emergencies, as new data sheds light on the extent of
disruption to essential services like cancer screening, maternal health and vaccination during the
COVID-19 pandemic.

The arrival of COVID-19 disrupted healthcare in various ways. Less urgent services were
cancelled or postponed, while barriers imposed by curfews, transport closures and stay-at-home
orders prevented some patients from attending appointments. Others avoided health centers and
hospitals for fear of becoming infected themselves.
The researchers identified several reasons for reduced health care use that appeared to be
common across countries: fear of contagion, inability to pay for health care because of
lost employment or wages, intentional suspension of routine care or redeployment of
health workers or hospitals to care for COVID-19 patients, and the barriers imposed by
COVID-19 lockdowns.

However, some countries’ health systems appeared to be more resilient than others. For
instance, in Chile, maternal health services are provided exclusively by midwives.
Because they weren’t redeployed to COVID-19 care, they were able to maintain regular
service provision.

So…after that the different countries must be looking to improve a resilient healthcare
system to face such pandemic crisis and still be as functional.
1.The main justification for the need of both a new national and international concepts of
the health system is failure of both the international and national health authorities to
avoid millions of morbidities and hundred thousands of mortalities. Even the adopted
measures to combat such disaster caused severe undermining of the economic, social, and
the current lifestyle of the whole mankind.
2. Health systems also need a new infrastructure, resources, and skills, scientific
researches and developing a many fundamental strategies in many parts of the world.
3. We are standing at an inflection point, with technological progress in a number of
areas generating new ideas to solve one of the biggest challenges in our lives today. The
Future Health Community necessitates an initiative to stimulate a paradigm change in
health care by exploiting the most advanced sensing, computing, and communication
technologies to enable high-quality medical care and services in the framework of the
Internet-of Humans. Support for Future Health will enable the Egyptian health system to
extend and increase its scientific excellence and competitiveness, driven forward by the
creation of a cost-effective, sustainable, equitable heath care system.

Primary Healthcare:
As known that Primary Health Care (PHC) that can meet more than 80% of people’s
health needs at any age and any stage of life can play a very important and vital role in
these area.
And from this point after the pandemic disease of Corona Virus on 2019 the progression
of the digitalization and the mobile phone application that could allow the primary
diagnosis of the patients and the virtual appointment with the physicians to keep them
safe and also the level up a digital readymade forms after the patients answering a
questions already on the program to create up of the protocols for both the infected
patients and the protective protocols as well .

on this table on details how the corona affect the primary healthcare on the different
aspects.

Also in UK on the pandemic period the admission of the cardiac failure and attack
increase on the stage of the pandemic
Secondary Healthcare:

Doctor teleconsultations and consultation in OECD countries, 2020

According to McKinsey insights, the use of telehealth services has stabilized at levels 38
times higher than before the pandemic. A 2022 research paper published in the journal
Primary Care December 2022 states that telemedicine healthcare is set to remain a
permanent and “integral part of medical care.

Tertiary healthcare:

The field of surgery is moving toward a very exciting future with the aid of robots,
machines, and AI. Do you believe that one day, artificial intelligence may replace
surgeons? Absolutely, but only in conjunction with highly advanced robotics. The
empathy, insight, and inventiveness that surgeons bring to their work will never be fully
replaced by machines.

Robots have advanced significantly in recent years, helping patients heal from injuries
and assisting surgeons during operations.
And actually in some countries they succeeded to perform a minor surgery remotely just
using a computerized report and not only just this way the surgeon was using the report
remotely as he was on another company.
I guess by the new coming days as the robots starting to be as a part of a strong
digitalization syytem it will be also be available on the medical field strongly specially
with the precise surgeons to prevent the human errors as an advantage of usage plus
maybe being a strong tool of innovation we could use on a wide range .

Currently, there are two categories of surgical robots. These are aids that doctors use to
close up patients after surgery, make tiny incisions, and ensure the installation of medical
gadgets.

On the other hand, the completely automated tool can perform all surgical tasks from
beginning to end without assistance from a human. Recently, a pig’s intestine was
repaired with greater accuracy by this kind of robotic equipment than by a human
surgeon.

Robotics’ introduction to the operating room has had various unforeseen repercussions,
including a decrease in surgeons’ situation awareness, which may lead to a less
cooperative intraoperative decision-making process. Healthcare practitioners shouldn’t
hurry to use this technology before its effects. By watching videos of surgery and
extracting performance data from them, AI-based models may be taught it are clear.

In the last decade, the proliferation of AI across industries took the world by storm, and
the trend is likely to continue. AI’s application in medicine ranges from increasing the
diagnosis accuracy to disease detection.
With the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting the health care industry, radiologists
encountered heavy strain as computed diagnosis became the norm. In this situation, an
AI-based system removed the radiologists’ burdens by optimizing the diagnosis process.
AI algorithms can perform scans, detect patterns and give diagnoses in seconds. Today,
tech giants like Google and IBM have released their AI-infused technologies that help
medical facilities unearth data.

And after all ……..

The industry will actively use Artificial intelligence AI-based tools to quickly find new
drugs and act on trends. Furthermore, AI chatbots are becoming popular in health care as
a medium to provide help to customers through email and phone support 24/7.

Companies are combining AI with robotics to make virtual assistants for doctors and
nurses. It also helps physicians provide care without going near a patient.
Larger health facilities and hospital systems with multiple locations or departments prefer
cloud-based solutions instead of on premise based. Part of this is due to the ability of
physicians to quickly and easily access up-to-date information and a lot of it.
While cloud-based solutions may be more popular in general, they do worry some
companies concerned with security threats. On-premise systems may prevent online
threats more thoroughly, but many cloud-based solutions have started to protect their data
with more effective and secure encryptions.

health management information system, adequate domestic capacity in being able to

innovate and scale up production and logistics of much needed medical products and a
governance approach that recognizes the importance of the health systems being able to
continuously learn and adapt to meet changing needs. In addition to this, the
organizational capacity of the system to deliver required services would need more
investment in financial resources, and a suitable health human resource policy.
From my point of view the technology is the world weapon to enhance the health system
also to enhance the public health and the awareness of the any population toward better
health and life style.

Innovation in healthcare is active across multiple R&D sectors, including the deployment
of telemedicine, artificial intelligence and machine learning, wearable devices, 3D
printing, antimicrobials, blockchain technology, robotics, nanomedicine, internet of
things and more will be released for sure

Occlusion :

Healthcare innovations which are new technologies, processes or products that aim to
improve the quality of healthcare delivered to the different patients and population by
making services more efficient, accessible and affordable also have the potential to
transform lives and revolutionize medical practices saving lives and giving the population
to live a better live with more health awareness toward protection and prevention and
usage of the technology revolution on a great benefit way on the healthcare sector .
Innovation in healthcare is active across multiple R&D sectors, including the deployment
of telemedicine, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
