Curriculum : Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT)
Curricular Year : 1st Year
No. of Hours/ Sem. : 90 hours/semester (2 hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory per week)
Credit Unit(s) : 3 units
Prerequisite(s) : CC 112 / CC 112L

Vision of the University : A premier, multidisciplinary-technological university

Mission of the University : The University shall primarily provide advanced professional and technical instruction for special purposes,
advanced studies in industrial trade, agriculture, fishery, forestry, aeronautics and land-based programs, arts and
sciences, health sciences, information technology and other relevant fields of study. It shall also undertake
research and extension services and provide progressive leadership in its areas of specialization (Sec.2 of RA
9744).

Goal of the University : The University shall produce scientifically and technologically oriented human capital equipped with appropriate
knowledge, skills, and attitudes. It shall likewise pursue relevant research strengthen linkages with the industry,
community and other institutions and maintain sustainable technology for the preservation of the environment.

2. Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino (IT10).

4. Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility (IT12).
5. Preserve and promote "Filipino historical and cultural heritage" (based on RA 7722).

appropriate solution. (IT03).
2. Apply computing and other knowledge domains to address real-world problems. (IT01).
3. Design and develop computing solutions using a system-level perspective (IT05).

IT01 Apply knowledge of computing, science and mathematics appropriate to the discipline.
IT02 Understand best practices and standards and their applications.
IT03 Analyze complex problems and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its
solution.
IT04 Identify and analyze user needs and take them into account in the selection, creation, evaluation and
administration of computer-based systems.
IT05 Design, implement and evaluate computer-based systems, processes, components or programs to
meet desired needs and requirements under various constraints.
IT06 Integrate IT-based solutions into the user environment effectively.

profession.
IT08 Function effectively as a member or leader of a development team recognizing the different roles within
the team to accomplish a common goal.

computing activities through logical writing, presentations and clear instructions.
IT11 Analyze the local and global impact of computing information technology on individuals, organizations
and society.

information technology.
IT13 Recognize the need for and engage in planning self-learning and improving performance as a
foundation for continuing professional development.

Course Description : This course focuses on the fundamental constructs and concepts underlying computer hardware and software
which includes: number systems, binary arithmetic, codes, Boolean algebra, gates, Boolean expressions,
Boolean switching function synthesis, iterative arrays, sequential machines, state minimization, flip/flops,
sequential circuits, simple processors.

Course Learning Outcomes : CLO1 Recognize the fundamental concepts of digital logic design towards understanding digital systems and
its applications. (Introducing: IT01 & IT02)
CLO2 Utilize various methods in simplification of complex logic expressions. Enabling: IT03 & IT05)
CLO3 Apply techniques related to the design and analysis of digital electronic circuits. (Enabling: IT03 & IT05)

To receive credit, student must achieve a course grade of at least 3.0. The weighting of the grade is described in the
evaluation procedures.

Final Rating grade divided by two (2). A remainder of 0.5 shall be dropped in favor 100%
