A Semi-Detailed Lesson In
Technology and Livelihood Education
(Nail Care Services 7)
I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:
1. identify the different nail shapes;
2. draw the different nail shapes; and
3. appreciate the importance of different nail shapes when applied to everyday walks of life.
Subject Integration:
Araling Panlipunan- show how ancient culture display social status with nails (Ming Dynasty)
Arts-Explore the artistry and creativity in nail shapes.
English - used riddles as motivation.
Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (ESP)- for developing positive attributes such as patience,
perseverance, and presence of mind while doing the activities.
Filipino – used as mother tongue in unlocking of difficulties.
Math- used of basic geometric shape found in nail shape such as oval, round, and square.
III. PROCEDURE:
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Routine Activities:
Greetings, Checking of Attendance, and House Rules
Listen attentively while teacher is having a discussion.
Avoid doing unnecessary things! Please remain focus.
Maintain respect in both speaking and writing.
Take down important notes.
3. Unlocking of Difficulties
Nail- is a plate of keratin that lies on the tips of the fingers and toes.
Kuko- ay isang malasungay na kayarian sa dulo ng mga daliring pangkamay at pangpaa.
Keratin- is a type of protein that forms the cells that make up the tissue in nails and other
parts of the body.
B. Lesson Proper:
1. Identify the different shape of nails.
2. Draw the different shapes of the nails.
3. Explain the importance of the different nail shapes. Let the student express their ideas.
(Oral Recitation/Brainstorming)
C. Closing Activities
1. Generalization
Let the students assess their learnings by answering the activity called “COLOR GAME”
BLUE- Which of the nail shapes you like the most and why?
RED- What is the importance of knowing different shapes of nail?
2. Valuing
Nail shape is important because it helps to showcase your style and personality. This is why
there are so many different shapes to choose from, we are all different and like different things.
Nail shapes change throughout time because people become more daring in what they do with
their nails.
3. Application
INSTRUCTIONS: Sketch your own nail and draw the five basic shape of the nails and label
them.
IV. EVALUATION
Students will be evaluated according to the rubrics.
