ABSTRACT
This study investigates the correlation between bullying experiences and students’
academic success. Initial findings reveal a negative association, highlighting the
emotional toll on victims. The research explores mitigating factors such as school
climate. Valuable insights aim to inform interventions for a safer learning
environment.

Chapter 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
According to Hans Selye (1936 - 1937) The word ‘stress’ is used in physics to

refer to the interaction between force and the resistance to counter that force. Within the

educational landscape a pressing concern that significantly influences the quality of

education is stress One of the biggest causes of the issues students encounter during

their academic careers is stress.

While they are having difficulty achieving the academic goals that will shape their

future. Scholarly one of the things that leads to student failure is pressure. Stress is a

reaction to when danger is perceived, hormones send out signals that trigger an

involuntary mental and physical response.

The fight-or-flight respon1se is the name of this reaction mechanism. Stress is often

used to describe two things: The body’s reaction to pressure and the psychological

sense of pressure on the other, which touches on several systems, including the

muscles, the memory, and breakdown. There is much stress. Of what one expects of

oneself. The sensation of pressure and tension is called stress. Stress is an intimidating

emotion.

This study’s primary goals are to investigate how stress affects students’ academic

performance. Students’ academic performance is significantly impacted by stress. The

detrimental effect on the students’ academic performance was the focus of this

investigation. The study set out to: (1) identify the kind of stress that is associated with

student performance; (2) assess the effect of stress on students’ academic

performance; and (3) distinguish the effects of stress on the academic performance of

students of each gender.

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the impact of Stress on the Student Academic

Performance of Grade 11 Section 1 at Servitech Institute Asia Laguna. It aimed to

determine the solution on students’ failure academic performance.

Specially, it sought answer to following questions:

1. What is the demographic profile of respondents in terms of:

1.1 Age.,

1.2 Gender.,

1.3 Socio-economic.,

2. What is the connection between their academic performance and stress?

3. What are the common sources of stress identified by Grade 11 students at Servitech

Institute of Asia Laguna, specifically related to their academic responsibilities?

4. How stress affect the students of Grade 11 section 1 at Servitech Institute of Asia's

first semester academic performance?
