Detailed Lesson Plan

MATHEMATICS 7
S.Y. 2022-2023
TEACHER:
IAN ORTIZ PRADO Section/s: AMYTHEST

DATE OF TEACHING: Grade Level: 7

No. of hours: 60 minutes Quarter: 4

Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts, uses
and importance of Statistics, data collection/gathering and the
different forms of data representation, measures of central
tendency, measures of variability, and probability.
Performance Standards:
The learner is able to collect and organize data systematically
and compute accurately measures of central tendency and
variability and apply these appropriately in data analysis and
interpretation in different fields.

Most Essential Learning Competencies: Organizes data in a frequency distribution table.

I. Objectives
At the end of this lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Understand the concept of frequency distribution table: ungrouped data
b. Actively participate in group activity.
c. Gather and organize data using the frequency distribution table: ungrouped
data

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Frequency Distribution Table.
References: Learning Self-Module 4
Materials: TV, laptop, printed materials, pentel pen, manila paper
Values Integration: Learning Organizes data in a frequency distribution table through
cooperation and appreciating the student’s active participation, attentiveness and
perseverance to learn independently.

III. Procedure
Teachers’ Activity Students’ Activity
Preparatory Activity
1. Prayer
May I ask everyone to stand up for Students will lead the prayer
the prayer.
2. Greetings
Good morning, ma’am
Good morning class
How is everyone today? Feeling great ma’am
Good!
3. Checking of Attendance (The
teacher will check the attendance) is None ma’am
there any absent today?
4. Classroom rules
Before everything else, Lets’ us
recall our classroom rules. First
participate actively in class, second
do not roam around the classroom
while the class discussion is still on
going. Do not talk to your seatmate,
raise your hand if you want to
answer. Respect each other.
5. Motivation
The name of the activity is FORM
ME, here is the mechanics
- By group you are given a
scrambled letter
- Then form it into its correct word,
the first group to tack their correct
output will be the winner.

Group 1- FRECYNQUE
Group 2- ABLTE
ANSWERS
Group 1- FREQUENCY
Group 2- TABLE
6. Review Now, let’s have a short recap
about our last topic.
So, what was our topic class?

Yes? Christian?
Christian: our last topic ma’am was all about Data
Presentation which are the pie graph, bar graph,
line graph, histogram and ogive

Okey, thank you is there any

clarifications about our last topic?

A. ACTIVITY
The name of the activity that you are going to do is
Complete the table. Now I have here a table
containing organize data but some of it are missing.
Now, all you have to is to fill those missing cells
with the correct answers. I will give you 3 minutes
to complete the table and tack it on the board.
Mechanics: By group you are going to complete the
missing piece of the table. Put the correct answers in
each blank cell.

Sam’s team has scored the following numbers of

goals in recent games.
2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 2, 2, 3

Percentage Percentage

35. 71 1
4 14. 29

Are you ready class?

Okey time starts now Students: yes ma’am

B. ANALYSIS

What do you think is the purpose or concepts of

having the table?

Yes Miguel?
Miguel: to organize the data ma’am
Okey thank you. It shows clear and definite
information about a set of data.

In the table what do you think is frequency?

Yes? Nice
Nice: The frequency is the number of times a
certain number occurs.
Okey thank you
How about the Percentage Distribution class? How
do you think it is obtained?
Yes? Joann Joann: It is obtained by dividing the number
of frequencies by the total number of values,
then multiplying it by 100
Okey thank you class, now lets us find out if
your perceptions are right.

C. ABSTRACTION
Our topic for today is all about frequency
Distribution table for ungroup data.

Now what is frequency Distribution table? Kindly

read the definition, Arman.
Arman: Frequency Distribution Table is used to
A frequency table is a tally of the number of
times a data value occurs. It summarize and organize data through tables.
shows clear and definite information about
a set of data. The table is constructed by
tallying or counting the number of times a
data value occurs. The number of
occurrences of a data value is called its
frequency.

Now what is frequency?

Yes? Jolly
Jolly: Frequency ma’am is the number of times a
certain number occurs.
Frequency is the number of times a certain
number occurs.

Yes, very good, thank jolly

Ungrouped data are data that are not

organized, or if arranged, could only
be from highest to lowest, or lowest to
highest

Percentage Distribution or the Relative

Frequency is often used to compare two or more
distributions. It is obtained by dividing the
number of frequencies by the total number of
values, then multiplying it by 100. Percentage
Distribution=

No. of Frequency X 100

Total of No. of Frequency

Now, I have an example of data. And we are going

to create a frequency distribution table out of the
data given.
Example: Blood Type
Twenty- five army inductees were given a blood test
to determine their blood type. The data is shown
below:

A B B AB O
O O B AB B
B B O A O
A O O O AB
AB A O B A

Now, the construction of Ungrouped frequency

distribution consists essentially of the following
steps:
1. Set the values of data, which are called
scores, in the column starting from the lowest value
to the highest or vice versa;
2. Create the second column with the tally of
each data.
3. Create the third column with the frequency
of each data occurrences based on the tally you
have in second column.
4. Create the fourth column by computing its
percentage distribution

Percentage
Blood Frequency
Tally Distribution
Type (f)
(%)
A |||| 5 20
B |||| - || 7 28
AB |||| 4 16
O |||| - |||| 9 36
Total 25 100%

Okey, is there any questions class

regarding the topic?

D. APPLICATION
The following list shows the number of dogs
in each of 30 families. Construct and
organize Ungrouped frequency distribution
table for the data. By group you are given
10 minutes to answer
0 1 1 2 2 2 Percentage
Number
Tally Frequency Distribution
1 4 1 3 4 1 of Dogs
(%)
2 2 0 3 2 0 0 IIII - I 6 20
1 4 1 1 3 1 IIII - IIII 40
1 12
-II
0 1 0 1 0 1
2 IIII - I 6 20
3 III 3 10
4 III 3 10
Total 30 100%

IV. Evaluation
Do it individually.
Multiple choice: Choose the letter of the
correct answer.
1. What do you call a data being organized,
summarized, and presented through tables?
a. Frequency Distribution c. Population
b. Percentage Distribution d. Class
Distribution
2. Which of the following refers to the number
of occurrences a certain number has? a.
Table c. Class
b. Frequency d. Interval
Items 3-5 The following set of data contains the
blood types of COVID-19 patients

ANSWER:
A, O, O, AB, A, A, O
1. A

2. B
3. How many COVID-19 patients have AB
3.A
blood type? 4.C
A. 4 B. 7 C. 9 D. 20 5.D
4. How many COVID-19 patients have O blood
type?
A. 4 B. 7 C. 9 D. 20

5. What is the percentage distribution of the

COVID-19 patients having AB blood type?
A. 4% B. 100% C. 15% D. 20%

Okey, pass the paper in front class

7. Generalization
So now class who can give me a recap of our topic
today?

Yes? Ernest Ernest: our topic ma’am was all about organizing
Frequency distribution table and getting the
Percentage distribution ma’am.

Okey thank you Ernest, is there any clarification, None ma’am

violent reaction or suggestion class?

V. Assignment
Gather the age of your class mates then organize a
frequency distribution table of the gather data.
