4.What is the title of your professional qualification/degree?

Bachelor of Design (Architecture)

5.Have you undertaken or been involved in any university projects, specific work
experiences or research relevant to your chosen position discipline? Tell us what you
have been involved in that demonstrates your passion for this specific
area/discipline.

Yes, I have relative knowledges and experience to the positon’s discipline in

the university projects and work experiences.

During my studies, I have expertise in architecture, construction, sustainable

design, interior design, space in performance design and digital design. I have
been trained with experience using Adobe CS application, AutoCAD,
Sketch-up and Rhino and Revit, V-ray, Unreal Engine and Enscape. I’m
enthusiastic about sketching, architectural drawing, digital models and
physical models making. Based on my educational background, I understand
the sustainable design strategies, such as counting carbon emission in
architecture, construction and industrial processes, passive design for
reducing consumption of energy and material choice. Several examples could
be found in my portfolio.

I am passionate about digital design, parametric design, sustainable design,

and residential, commercial and public space design. I have relative
internship in China, Australia and the UK. I understand BIM and I have
relative working experices using digital softwares. For examples, I assisted
with the research sustainable design of building and facade, low carbon
emission materials choice, site analysis and sustainable strategies. I
collaborated in 2D drawing in AutoCAD, the digital modelling in rhino, revit
and grasshopper and rendering tasks in my previous internships. I also have
the extra skills in graphic design and production design, which I gained from
internships in production design firms. Moreover, I possess a keen
perception of spatial awareness and aesthetic appreciation. I am keen on
projects rendering, I also had some experiences handling some individual
projects for the production and showroom rendering, such as the project for
TOTO Bath included in portfolio.

Furthermore, I place great emphasis on practical work experience. Working

with a diverse team of professionals allowed me to gain an understanding of
the importance of collaboration in achieving optimum design solutions and
the need to adopt a flexible design-focused mindset to problem-solving. I
have no problems following instructions accurately, working under pressure
meeting deadlines efficiently and effectively. My pronounced interpersonal
skills would make me a strong team player. I am also always available to take
the initiative in response to direction or instruction to expedite the process of
any projects on hand. In my current position’s jewellery design projects, I
participate in discussions with colleagues and leaders, quickly making
changes and improvements to production designs based on data analysis,
competitor analysis, and market feedback. As a result, my design was
selected by director as the final option. I am always ready to learn
independently and keep up with trends. I have learnt the knowledge and
software such as Jewellery design and Revit for working and got the relative
certifications.

6. Are you an active member of any university student groups or societies? If so,
which ones?
Yes. During my time in university, I used to participate in some extracurricular
activities organized by MSD (Melbourne School of Design). For instance, I
joined interest groups where students could exchange knowledge and
software technology. At first, I received some help from senior members in this
group. Later on, I helped younger students solve their academic and
software-related problems. I also attended some public lectures given by
experienced industry leaders, which allowed me to gain insights into industry
trends and demands.

7.Do you have work experience or a summer placement relevant to your application?
If so, where?

Yes. I have many relative working experiences as I mentioned in previous question.

For software skills, I and took part in AutoCAD plan drawing, SketchUp, Rhino digital
modelling and representation tasks in my previous internship in the UK, Australia
and China. These software skills are practised in my earlier works to carry on any
projects that required architectural drawing and modelling, rendering or photoshop in
further work. Especially my skills Rhino, Vray and Enscape, My excellent modeling
and rendering skills particularly helped me secure some independent project
opportunities after graduation.

I embraced grasshopper for site analysis, massing study and facade test in my
internship in China. Due to my previous work in Mango Tech Group and Masonry
Societies in Melbourne, I am also experienced in handling graphic design, interior
design, and research tasks.

In my current position’s jewellery design projects, I am active to collaborate with

team work, and I always keep a curiosity with any work and task. I participant the
discussion and research, and quickly make changes and improvements to
production designs based on data analysis, competitor analysis, and market
feedback. As a result, my design was selected by director as the final option.

8. At Jacobs, we see global challenges as opportunities to make the world a better

place. What is a disruptor that you see facing our communities, and how would you
contribute to the development of solutions leading to sustainable outcomes?

As an architectural assistant, one major disruptor that I see facing our

communities is the lack of sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
Climate change, natural disasters, and urbanization are putting immense
pressure on our built environment, leading to increased risks and
vulnerabilities.

To contribute to the development of solutions leading to sustainable

outcomes, I would focus on designing and implementing infrastructure that is
adaptable, resource-efficient, and environmentally friendly. This includes
incorporating green technologies, such as solar panels and rainwater
harvesting systems, into buildings and urban spaces

Additionally, I would prioritize sustainable materials and construction methods

that reduce the environmental impact of buildings and infrastructure. I would
also work with local communities to ensure that infrastructure meets their
needs and reflects their values. By collaborating with engineers, planners, and
other professionals, I believe that we can create infrastructure that is resilient,
sustainable, and equitable, and that contributes to a better world for all.

10. Which University do you attend?
