1. Casing
All casings are double-skinned sandwich panel with high-density filled-in foamed Polyurethane that do not allow contact
with internal conditioned air, resulting in much cleaner air to be supplied to the conditioning space.
2. Water coil
All coils are constructed with rippled-corrugated fins in diameter copper tubes. Copper tubes are mechanically expanded
to fin holes to assure optimum tube-to-fin contact and blazed with return bends. Each of the manufactured coil has leak
testing with 24kgs/cm² (350psig) compressed air filled into the coil circuit and being submerged in water pool warranted
operating water pressure water pressure of 17kgs/cm² (250psig) or the lower.
3. Fan
All fans are double width double inlet (DWDI) centrifugal fan with forward/backward curved impellers of approved
manufacturer for optimum application to provide required air volume and static pressure. All fan assemblies are test run
and adjusted balance at factory before shipment of units. When test run is made, be sure that the rotation is correct. In
case wires are connected opposite to the instruction, the fan rotation is incorrect.
4. Motor
All motors used for AHU are induction motors totally enclosed fan cooled type, with IP55 degree of protection good for
3-phase, alternating current (AC). No need for lubrication.
AHUR-DB/CB 129
Installation manual of air handling unit EDADT1505A
5. V-Belts
V-belts tend to elongate during operation in a long run. Be sure to adjust the tension of the belts so that the belts have
adequate tension. However, after twenty-four hours of operation, it should be checked and adjusted. If the tension is
more than normal acceptable degree, motor and blower bearings receive undue strain and, as the consequence, the unit
will create vibration and noise problem. Should be readjusted to recommend tension following table of tensioning force

Uneven length of V-belts get damage after long run, totally replace all belts. Do not use old and new belts together.
When replacing belts, be sure that all belts selected have an even length before fitting them on to the unit.
When adjusting the tension and/or replacing the belts, motor level may be adjusted slightly by bolts on the motor base.
6. Blower bearing
Bearings used are either deep ball bearing type with an eccentric locking collar or an adapter sleeve, or spherical roller
bearing type sealed at both sides for different duty application.
The bearings are lubricated for long life and maintenance-free. If re-lubrication is necessary, it is recommended to use a
lithium base grease suitable for all temperatures within the operational limits.
Bearing Lubrication, Fan equipped with pillow block bearing inserted in rubber damper are pre-lubricated and should not
require additional grease for start up.
However, for plumber block bearing, with lubrication point can be further lubricated when the life of grease is expectancy.
This will depend on the type of grease, speed and operating temperature of the bearing. The best way to determine the
republication frequency is to inspect the condition of the old grease that purges from the seals when adding new grease.
Lf the purges grease looks just like the new grease, you can go a longer time between republications. If the purges
grease is much darker than the new grease, this indicator that the grease is oxidized and you must reduplicate more
frequently.
7. Ducted installation
Improper installation with inlet or discharge configurations may result in reduced performance. Free discharge or
turbulent flow in the discharge ductwork will result in system effect losses.

8. Drain - pan
The air borne dirt will stuck onto fins drips on the drain pan with condensate water, which tends to interrupt smooth drain.
Remove such dirt concentrated at the drain outlet through the access door installed right above it. For AHU containing
water spray type humidifier, the access may be reached via manhole.
When AHU. has an extra high negative pressure in the unit due to high resistance in return air side, air may be sucked
adversely into the unit through drain outlet. In this case, draining stream for drain pan will become insufficient. To avoid
possible trouble trouble, the drain pipe end shall be adequately trapped.
9. Filters
Washable type filters
recommended on dirt accumulation through the side of filter boxes. When washing filter material, take out filter cores
from filter box, remove filter material from holding frames, and wash it by water. Use of detergent helps to remove the dirt
easily. In case, dirt accumulation is in slight degree, a quick spray water on the entire filter surface, without removing the
filter material from frames, may do, for that easy cleaning purpose. Remember filter plays not only its primary role of air
cleaning but also another important role of preventing stuck-up of dirt and fur on finned coil to maintain the specified
cooling / heating capacity of AHU.

Features
Hoisting
• All units are provided with hoisting brackets located at the base of units.
• When hoisting is required hoisting strips should have a suitable length so that no unnecessary force is being applied to the
casing while hoisting.
• Only non-metal slings are to be used for hoisting to avoid damage to the side panels. Wooden pieces are to be inserted
between the slings as an additional protection for the casing.
• When using a fork-lift truck to lift the unit ,care must be taken to ensure that the insulation under the drain pan is not
damaged.
• It is generally recommended that the AHU should not be dragged, as this will damage the insulation under the units.
• If for whatever reasons, the contractor is unable to make use of the hoisting brackets, then care should be taken to prevent
the casing from damage while moving and handling the units.

Features
INSTALLATION
The system design and installation should follow accepted industrial practice, such as described in the ASHRAE Handbook.
These units are not designed to be waterproof and therefore should not be installed outdoor.
Adequate space should be catered around the unit for piping coils and drains, filters replacement, and maintenance such as
lubrication and belt adjustment. Sufficient space should be provided on the side of the unit for shaft removal and coil removal
if necessary. Space required for coil removal should at least equal to the length of the coil.
Flexible connectors should be used on the outlet and inlet duct connections for all units. A minimal amount of air leakage is
normal on the cabinet and it will not affect unit performance.
Isolator
Due to the unit design has no internal isolator, the external isolator must be fixed to absorb the vibration. For hanging
mounting type, use 'rubber hanger' and floor mounting type use “rubber pad” at 4 corners.
