Classroom Environment:
Classroom space will be conducted online. Students
need to watch the video that is given the link. Then,
give feedback about their understanding.

Analysis Phase Introduction:


The video will introduce students to the basics of
“How to write a descriptive essay in English.” The
session covers the following steps:
1. Pre-writing stage:
a) Come up with the topic you want to
describe
b) Create the essay outline
2. Writing process:
a) How to describe
objects/sceneries/events in the correct
way
b) How to logically connect the paragraphs.
3. Ending: To summarize the essay.

Need Assessment:
● Summary of Need Assessment Findings:
The assessment is the need for this online
class to ensure the students can practice on
how to write a good descriptive essay.
Learner Analysis:
● Summary of Learner Analysis:
This workshop will target high school students
ranging from 13 to 17 years old ​because
descriptive essays are included in their English
syllabus and some have difficulties to write it.
Most of them also have a mobile phone so it is
easier for them to access the video on Youtube.

Objectives Analysis:
● Instructional Objectives
Upon completion of this course students will be
able to:
1. Demonstrate the purpose of descriptive
essay
2. Discuss the function of descriptive language
and expressions
3. Describe items/views/events in a proper way
in English.

● Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students are able to:
1. Understand what is a descriptive essay.
2. Describe objects/sceneries/events in the
correct way.
3. Write a descriptive essay from start to end.
4. Apply the knowledge and skills in writing a
descriptive essay.

Additional information:
1. Audience:
It is open to High School students in Malaysia
that have difficulty in writing an essay.
2. Purpose:
Most of the high school students in Malaysia
have difficulty in writing essays. With
technology nowadays, It will help students’
writing to be more detailed and interesting. It
also can encourage students to use new
vocabulary words and can help students clarify
their understanding of new subject matter
material.
3. Skills:
Writing skill.
4. Performance outcome and objective:
This course aims to make sure students can
write their essay very well during their exam.
5. Application:
This skill can be applied when they have to
answer a descriptive essay question.
6. Location:
Online Class.

before the online class day.

Dr Sharifah and students will do the post-test
of this video to give a comment to improve the
contents in the future.

Evaluation Impact Evaluation Report:


Phase
The report of evaluation will consist of two types of
evaluation:
● Summative Evaluation
Students need to try to write their short
descriptive essay (250 words) and submit it
through email or WhatsApp.
● Formative Evaluation
Activity during the online class, students have
to answer the questions given at the end of the
video.
Result:
● Students will give their feedback about the
video. They also can tell the truth, whether
they understand it or not.
Conclusion:
● At the end of the class, students will know how
to write an essay excellently.
