Math March 6

This lesson plan is for a 5th grade mathematics class taught by Sharmaine Roaring on March 7, 2024. The objectives are for students to demonstrate understanding of sequences and solving simple equations using different strategies. The content will cover using strategies like looking for patterns and working backwards to solve single variable equations. Learning resources include textbooks, worksheets, and an online portal. Students will practice solving equations individually and in groups. Their understanding will be evaluated through an assessment involving more equation solving. The teacher will provide remediation or extension activities depending on student performance.

LESSON PLAN Area
Teaching Date March 7 ,2024 Quarter 3rd quarter
Teaching Time
I. OBJECTIVES The learner should be able to:
A. Content Standards  The learner demonstrates understanding of the
concept of sequence and solving simple
equations.
B. Performance standards  The learner is able to apply the knowledge of
sequence in various situations.
C. Learning competencies/objectives  The learner uses different strategies
(looking for a pattern, working
backwards, etc.) to solve for the
unknown is simple equations involving
one or more operations on whole
numbers and fraction.
Code: M5AL-IIIf-14a
 Participate actively in class during
discussion
II. CONTENT The learner uses different strategies (looking for
a pattern, working backwards, etc.) to solve for
the unknown is simple equations involving one or
more operations on whole numbers and fraction

IV. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity
A. Reviewing the previous lesson or presenting the new
lesson
Solve for n in the following one variable equation. Do it mentally
1. M+5=20 15
2. 25r=100 5
3. 6x=42 7
4. 24=y-4 20
5. 9+a=30 21
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
Talk about tourist destinations they like to visit at Bicol Region by
car. Identify each and allow them to share their experiences. So, If
you don’t have a car to visit such places you have to commute or
rent a car to enjoy your travel .

C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson

A car rental agency has to plans. Under plan A, a car is rented for ( Students are reading in their books)
php80.00 plus Php 20.00 for each additional day. Under plan B, a
car is rented for Php.00 plus Php 15.00 each additional day. What
numbers of days would result in the same cost.
D. Presenting new concepts and practicing new skills #1
How many stars will be drawn on the fifth page of Syds
notebook?
6 stars on the first page, 10 stars on the second page,14
stars on the third page, and 18 stars on the fourth page.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2

F. Developing mastery (Leads to Formative Assessment)
We are going to have a group activity but before we proceed to
our group activity here are the things that you have to remember
in doing the activity:
1. Listen as the teacher say the instruction
1.Go to your group without making noise
2.Participate and cooperate with your group (The students are attentively listening to the instruction)
3.. Raise your hand if you have questions or quires
4. Do the activity with the given time limit.

AVERAGE LEARNERS
Solve for the unknown using any strategy.
GROUP 1
X-7=8+ 10
G. Finding Practical application of concepts and skills in daily
living

H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson

I. Evaluate Learning
Solve for the unknown using any strategy. Show your complete
solution. ( Evaluate, ;letter A,1-5 only on page 274 of LM)
1. 5n= 2n+6
2. 8a= 2a+30
3. 39c-78=33c
4. 11b=4b+98
5. 4n+5=6n-7
J. Additional activities for application or remediation
Solve Evaluate, Letter A, 6-10 on page 274 of the LM.

V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% on the formative
assessment
B. No. of learners who require activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lesson/s work? No. of learners who have
caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation
E. Which of my teaching worked well? Why did this work?
