I. INTENT:
To provide a standardized procedure for the proper set up of the BIOS and jumper settings on the
Nexcom 715-HT Passive Backplane (P/B) Industrial CPU Board (415-0166-922).

II. SCOPE:
Specific to the 007-3003-012 Nexcom 715-HT Pentium 478 Pin PPGA CPU Board with the 450-0001-388
Celeron 2.4GHZ Processor installed. BIOS parameters for Ultimax, Lathe, and WinMax systems.

III. PROCEDURE:
A Jumper Configuration

1. Remove the CPU Board from its packaging and visually inspect it for any damage.

2. Configure the jumpers as follows.

the DEL key.
c. The CMOS setup utility main menu should appear on the screen.
Note: Some parameters may not be displayed depending on the BIOS revision.

3. Use the arrow keys to select “Standard CMOS Features”, press Enter key.

Note: DO NOT Use the “IDE HDD Auto Detect” function in CMOS on any drive setup.

a. Set the Primary Master hard drive parameters as follows. For a list of the approved hard
drives and their proper parameters see document 757-4002-166.
1) If the hard drive is less than 500MB or if the software is older and has cylinder and
sector restriction less than 500 MB:
a) Enter into the “Standard CMOS Features” screen.
757-4002-383 Page 4 of 10
d) Set the cylinders, heads and sectors from the list in document 757-4002-166.

2) If the hard drive is greater than 500MB and the software is 1.71 or 2.00 – 2.35 then the

d. Press the ESC key until the Main menu appears.

Application Note:
Some 2005/2006 Ultimax Machines were initially set up using 3305
for the Cylinders.

If the Bios is set incorrect, you may see the initial bool "loading
executive please wait", and then a Re-Boot. If this is the case try
using 3305 for the cylinders. If it works make a note inside the
cabinet door, or FDisk the HDD and start over with 3303 as it should
have been set up correct from the factory !

If you order a new HDD it will come set up at 3303 Cylinders.
