C. Motivation

Before anything else, let us have an activity which entitled

“Puzzle Me”.

Mechanics:
1. The learner will identity the words being puzzled, but
before they are identified, the learners should answer
the question first.

2. Learner’s attention and retention are a must.

3. In every question of every letter, it does not only
identify the letter of the word but also recall the basic,
stock, or new knowledge of words across different
learning areas, not only in Internet and Computing
Fundamentals.
4. The learner should not directly jump to conclusions
about what the correct words are without going
through all the numbered puzzles, and
5. The learner should most likely enjoy the game while
learning.

Are you ready class?

Yes ma’am.

The teacher will present the contextualized questions for

the students to identify the topic that is being puzzled
about.

1. What is the first letter of the chemical element

which is Nitrogen. Ans: Letter N

2. What is the first letter of the third planet from the

sun? Ans: Letter E

3. What is the first letter of the word Time?

Ans: Letter T

4. What is the 23rd letter of the alphabet?

Ans: Letter W

5. What is the 3rd letter of my family name?

Ans: Letter O

Let us give ourselves an Amazing Clap.
(Students do as told)
Would you like to have an another activity class?
Yes ma’am.
ACTIVITY So, this time we will have an another activity which entitled
“Scrambled word”. I want to group yourselves into 4
groups. Every group will select a representative to give a
brief explanation about the word they had and a secretary
to list down all members of the group in a ¼ sheet of paper.

Mechanics:
Arrange the ‘’Scrambled Letters” completely and paste it on
the board. The group who got the correct answer will
declare as a winner. I will give you 3 minutes to do the tasks.

Group 1: EDWI

Me ma’am.
Yes Santino?
(Students answer may
vary)
Thank you Santino. You’re almost there.

ABSTRACTION Our topic this morning is all about the network

fundamentals and the benefits and risks of network
computing.

Before anything else, let us have our class objectives.

Everybody please read.
Objectives:

a. Identify the
network
fundamentals and the
benefits and risks of
network computing

b. Draw at least 1
fundamentals of
network

c. Value the
importance of
network
fundamentals through
oral questioning

In your own opinion, what is network?

Me Ma’am.
Yes, Arjay?
(Students answer may
vary)
Excellent! Thank you, Arjay.

A network is consists of two or more computers that are

linked in order to share resources.

Class, are you aware that there are fundamentals of

network?
No ma’am.
If not, then, let us discover the fundamentals of network
and the benefits and risks of network computing.

Fundamentals of Network

• Personal area networks

• Local area networks
• Metropolitan area networks
• Wide area networks
1. Personal Area Network (PAN)

It provides networking needs around an individual. An

example of a PAN is where a smartphone, smartwatch,
tablet, and laptop all connect and share data without the
need to connect to an access point or other third-party
network services.

2. Local Area Network (LAN)

It provides networking needs around a single location. This

location might be an organization's office, a school, a
university, a hospital, an airport, and many others.

3. Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)

It provides networking capabilities between two different
locations within a city or metropolitan area to provide a
single extensive network.

4. Wide Area Network (WAN)

It provides networking capabilities between two different

geographical locations locally or worldwide. For example, a
WAN is used to connect an organization's head office with
branch offices all over the region.

Benefits of Computer Network

1. Ease of accessibility
Computer networks provide easy accessibility to
resources, information, and online services from
anywhere. Users can work remotely, access educational
resources, and retrieve personal files.

2. Flexibility
Flexibility means that different people will be able to
explore different things as per their requirements.

3. Convenient resource sharing

The main aim of a computer network is to enable sharing
of resources among its users. You can use resources such
as printers, scanners and photocopy machines that can be
shared across multiple users.

4. Connectivity
Computer networks improve connectivity irrespective of a
person's location. The pandemic brought this advantage to
the forefront, with people regularly using video call apps
like Zoom or Google Documents to connect with their
friends and colleagues.

5. Security
Computer networks provide security through
authorization. Authorization is done via user ID and
password. So, it ensures that when we log in, we are only
able to do it when there is a perfect match between our
details and the details stored in the database.

6. Enhanced Collaboration
With a computer network, individuals can easily share files,
documents, and information with each other, making it
easier to work together on projects and tasks.

Risks of Computer Network

1. Lack of robustness
Computer networks rely on the main server called the
central server. If the central server malfunctions or there is
an issue in the central server, then the entire network will
stop functioning. So, this is a major disadvantage due to
dependency on a single server.

2. Spread of computer virus

As computers in a network are interconnected, there is a
high probability that if one of the computers is affected by
the virus, others too can get affected.

3. Costly to set-up and maintain

While computer networks save costs in terms of resource
sharing and data storage, they also include considerable
implementation costs.

4. Health issues
Computer network provides access to a gamut of services
including entertainment, gaming, and movies. These result
in making you addicted to the content and thus result in
overuse of these services.
5. Lowers the ability to retain and analyze information
With computer networks storing vast amounts of data and
processing basic requests in a fraction of the time, people
are losing the ability to retain important information.

6. Unauthorized access
When multiple devices are connected to a network, there
is a greater potential for unauthorized access and data
breaches. Hackers can exploit vulnerabilities in the
network infrastructure or gain access to sensitive
information through one compromised device.

Those were the fundamentals of network and the benefits

and risks of network computing. Is there any questions and
clarifications class, regarding with our topic this morning?
None ma’am.
