Helios W

Operator interface / Card reader

HELIOS W, developed by ISOIL IMPIANTI, complete the well


known series in explosion proof execution, for those
applications that, even thought in areas without explosion
risk, require an high degree of strenght and reliability.

The typical use is as operator terminal in automatic system


for the control of operators and trucks in the plants: at the
entrance and exit gates, at the weighing bridges, at the
loading and unloading plants, at the booking and
document delivery facilities.

The operator’s identification occurs by reading a card


and/or keying personal codes; by means of the key-pad
and the display it is possible to digit numerical data and to
read alphanumerical messages.
Two green/red L.E.D., remotely controlled, give a read-out
at distance of the operative status.
The unit can be powered by mains, can read the status of
three input signals and activate three outputs to control
external devices as traffic lights, barriers etc.

Great care has been put in realising a reliable working in


harsh environment: for example choosing a contact less
technology for the badge reading, developing a housing
completely weather proof and made of high thickness
alluminium alloy and anodized.

Functions:
Serial communication lines
Are two, each settable as per EIA RS232/422/485 standards.

Communication protocol
On the first serial line is active as standard the Display
communication protocol by means of which the “host” Liquid Crystal Display type, backlighted, with 4 lines of 40
system can control the terminal, that means: alphanumeric characters.

A further output controls two high brightness L.E.D.
and of the communication
The protocol is handshaking (request and replay) type,
acting HELIOS as Slave respect to Host, that is Master, with Key-pad
ASCII charachters and optimised for the typical Membrane type, with tactile effect and acoustic replay (beep)

Data memory
Suitable cards Data storage is based on:
HELIOS W is compatible with RFID read only 125 KHz - EPROM memory (program)
transponder badges type SOKYMAT UNIQUE (EM H4102 or - EEPROM memory (operative parameters)
compatible).The badge must be positioned in the reading - buffered RAM (current data)
pocket (in case the presence of the badge during the
operations is required) or placed in proximity.
