it has been decided that the re-employed Railway employees should be treated
at par with the temporary Railway servants for purposes of grant of educational
{isistance in terms of rules contained in chapter XI of the Indian Raitway Establish-
‘ment code Vel. I ic. the re-employed Railway servants should be allowed eduea-
tional assistance after rendering three years service after re-employment subject
to prescribed conditions being satisfied.

In supersession of para 2 of this office letter No. 433-/38 (Eis), dated 13-4-60
(Serial No. 744) it has been decided that compensatory leave in lieu of attendance
Go Gazetted Holidays should be availed of by the staff concemed within a period
Gfone month of the gazetted holiday attended, after which the same will lapsc.
Such compensatory leave can be combined with regular Icave, casual leave of
holidays and Sundays (including other weekly offs) subject to the conditions laid
down in para, 2219-RII.
