VERB TENSES

2. Past tense
It expresses an action or situation that was started and finished in the
past.
This tense is formed by adding -d or -ed to the base form of the verb.
Was and were are the past tense of the verb be.
The irregular verbs have special past tense forms.
Examples:
a. Mother cooked dinner.
b. Father bought a cake yesterday.
3. Future tense
It expresses an action or situation that will occur in the future.
This tense is formed by using shall/will with the base form of the
verb.
Examples:
Rosanna and her friends will go to the beach.
The president will finish his term on 2022.
B. PROGRESSIVE TENSE OF VERBS
1. Present Progressive Tense
It describes an ongoing action that is happening at the same time the
statement is written.
This tense is formed by using am/is/are with the verb form ending in -ing.
Examples:
a. The officers of the class are attending a leadership training session.
b. The lame girl is working happily right now.
Activity 1
