Academic Examples
At the end of the session you will be understand the usage of academic examples during
counselling Session.

• What are Academic Examples.

• When should we ask academic questions.

• Why we ask academic question to the child.

• How Important is to plan for competitive exams and boards.

• Sample Academic Examples- Grade Wise /JEE & NEET

Academic Example
• Academic questions that are asked in the counselling session when the child and his parents are
available.
• The basic agenda of asking these questions is to generate the need of our product.
• By Asking Academic questions you will derive the point that whatever child has learnt till now is all
theoretical, practical approach in studies is missing.
• Fundamental conceptual clarity of the child is missing and concepts are not clear.
• Children are used to mug up the concepts but while preparing for CBSE Boards & competitive
exams like JEE/NEET its very important to understand the concepts clearly, Ask doubts and then
practice.
• If we are not planning the learning pattern properly then it is very difficult to crack such
competitive exams & will not be able to Improve his academic performance in boards.
Why Academic Examples are Important
• Academic Examples are the most important part of counselling session, without academic
questions the counselling session is incomplete.

• If the Academic Questions framed & asked properly, the probability of sales closure increases.

• Academic Examples or Questions should be always conceptual i.e. it should deal with good
concepts and it should be asked in a proper way in between the session.

• The presentation of Academic examples as well as the way those examples are explained in the
session, to make it clear that how we teach in Infinity Learn makes this more impactful.

If you toss up a coin what is the probability of getting a Head in the first attempt? The Probability of
getting Heads for the 5th time in the 10th row is ?

• ½

• 63/512

• 449/512

• 189/512

Ans. If probability of a heads is ½ then any time the probability is always ½ only

There are 247 students in a class – The task is to distribute equal number of Apples to the class.?
• 247

• 247*X

• 247+X

• 247/7

If you have 247 one apples you can distribute, one apple to each member of the class, that makes 247*1=247. If you
have more that two apples, that makes 247*2= 494. So you can distribute equal number of apples only, if are in
multiples

In a queue of 13 People the position of a girl is 5th from front, what will be her position from the back?

Ans: It should come instant here, usually students do 13-5 = 8 but the answer is 13-5+1 = 9 because
while subtracting total - position from front we include that same position twice from front and back
both but it has to be included only once so 09 comes as the right answer

A Space craft consumes less fuel in going from the earth to the moon than it takes during return trip?
Comment on the Question and answer why?

Ans: False, A Space craft consume more fuel while going to moon from earth and less fuel during the return trip.

Space craft has to go through the gravitational pull of the earth while going to the moon. Hence, more fuel is
consumed

Gravitational pull: It is the force that pulls one object to the other object& with respect to the earth it is total
mass or weight of the earth.

In Return trip gravitational pull of the earth itself helps the spacecraft to come back to the earth.

Concept of gravitational

Suppose you are inside the water of swimming pool near an edge. You friend is standing on a edge.
Do you find your friend taller or shorter than usual? Why?

Ans: The Person standing outside the water appears to be taller, because the light rays travelling from
air which is lighter medium to water which is denser thus creating a bend and showing the object(or
a person in this question) taller than usual.

If in this closed circuit, when the bulb is glowing, I will cut the wire with a scissor, What will be that
first thing will happen in the circuit which will stop bulb glowing?

Ans: The potential difference across the terminals of the battery will drop to 0 which will stop glowing
of bulb.

As per Ohms Law - V∝I or V= IR where V is potential Difference, I is current and R is proportional
constant R. So if V drops to 0 there is nothing to discuss on I.

What is the color of Sun? and why
Ans. The color of Sun is White. As white light passes through a prism, it disperses into 7 different
color's, forming a rainbow like image.

When Sunlight passes through rain droplets acting as tiny prisms, the sum forms a rainbow. As White
light is made up of 7 different colours it can be concluded that Sun is White but it appears yellow
from earth. This is because of the distance between Sun and Earth .

Red has the highest wavelength, followed by Orange and Yellow. Had we been in Pluto and beyond,
the Sun would have appeared Reddish instead of Yellow.

Why the value of g is zero at the center of the Earth?

Ans. At the center of Earth, the force due to upper half of the Earth will cancel the force due to lower
half. In the similar manner, force due to any portion of the Earth at the center will be cancelled due to
the portion opposite to it.

Thus, the gravitational force at the center on any body will be 0. Since, from Newton's law, we
know F=mg. Since, mass m of an object can never be 0. Therefore, when F=0, then g has to be 0.
Thus, the value of g is zero at the center of Earth.

Respiration is an example of ____________ (physical/chemical) change? Explain
How
Ans
During respiration, oxidation of glucose takes place. The chemical reaction of oxidation of glucose is:
C6H12O6+6O2→6CO2+6H2+Energy.

• Glucose reacts with oxygen to produce CO2, H2O and energy.

• We know that chemical change is a change in which new products are formed.

• Therefore, we can say respiration is an example of chemical change.

Is it difficult to cook vegetables on hills and mountains. Explain the reason.
Ans:

• The boiling point of water depends upon the pressure on its surface.

• It increases with increase of pressure and decrease on lowering of pressure.

• At higher altitudes, the atmospheric pressure is low, and therefore water boils below 100 degree C.

• Hence sufficient heat is not supplied for cooking the vegetables at hill stations.

• This difficulty may be overcome by using a pressure cooker.

Why do we get hiccups while eating? Give Reason
Ans- Food Particles enter the wind pipe.

• Hiccups are sudden, involuntary contractions of the diaphragm. It occurs at the time when the
voice box (larynx) contracts and the glottis closes. Due to this, the glottis effectively blocks the air
intake.

• The diaphragm contracts out of rhythm which causes hiccups. There are many causes of hiccups.
The major reason for the occurrence of hiccups is food particles entering the windpipe.

Does all of earth's oxygen come from trees?

Ans.

• All of earth's oxygen does not come from trees. Rather, the atmospheric oxygen that we depend on
as humans comes predominantly from the ocean.

• 70% of the oxygen in the atmosphere comes from marine plants and plant-like organisms. These
ocean-living plants release molecular oxygen as a waste product of photosynthesis (as do most
plants).

• There is Conc. HCL acid in our stomach which digests the food, which gets diluted when we drink
water post our meals. so, it affects digestion and produces gastric and other indigestion issues and
increases weight as well.
