PRIVATE SCHOOLS (NAPPS) TERMLY LOCAL GOVERNMENT GENERAL ST MEETING HELD AT BARACHEL GROUP OF SCHOOLS ON THURSDAY, 21 MARCH, 2024. 1. SALUTATION: We give all praises and honour to Almighty God for His mercies and faithfulness at all times, most especially for His grace and privilege to be here today to witness yet another meeting of this great association. Greetings to the NAPPS Chairman, other executives, and distinguished Proprietors here present. Using this medium to sincerely appreciate you all for your understanding and unalloyed cooperation at all times.
2. REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES FOR 2024 BASIC EDUCATION
CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION(BECE): This is to inform all Proprietors that the online registration for 2024 BECE has commenced on Monday,11th March and will close on Friday 10th May, 2024 while late registration starts on Saturday,11th May to Saturday, 18th May, 2024. The following documents should be submitted immediately after payment i. 3 copies of the receipts generated online. ii. Evidence of 2024 renewal fee iii. 2 copies of CASS printed from the portal. iv. Letter showing Custodian Centre of choice. Note: i. Payment online without submission of the above documents does not guarantee your approval to write the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). ii. There will be no extension after the end of the late registration period.
3. FIRST SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE (FLSC): Registration for 2024
FSLC by qualified and willing learners is ongoing at the rate of Three Thousand naira (#3000) only per candidate. This will close on Thursday, 28th March, 2024.
4. SCHOOLS ENGAGING IN EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES: Schools
engaging in examination malpractices should desist as the number of culprits increases each year as noticed by West African Examination Council (WAEC). Let us make IFO Examination Malpractice FREE Zone
5. UPDATING LEARNERS’ DETAILS ON OGSERA PLATFORM: Private
Schools are enjoined to update their schools’ and learners’ records on the OGSERA portals for the 2023/2024 session. Schools that are yet to comply with Government policy on Education, particularly on full onboarding and synchronization of learners’ details on the OGSERA platform would do so without further delay.
6. MANDATORY PAYMENT OF ANNUAL RENEWAL FEE:
Schools are enjoined to pay in full the mandatory annual renewal fee so as to transact business uninterrupted with the Zonal Education Office and the Ministry at large.
7. PARTICIPATION IN INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMPETITIONS: The
benefits for both learners and the schools in participating in competitions are enormous, which include: Learners Skill development, Motivation and Engagement, Building Confidence, Exposure to diversity, Networking opportunities, Recognition and Rewards, Promotion of sportsmanship Ethics e.t.c should be embraced by all. Of recent is the 774 Young Nigerian Scientist Presidential Award (YONSPA) in which Miss Atigah Faith Oluwaferanmi of Adedokun International School, Ota emerged 2nd overall best. I therefore, urge us to respond to competitions notice released by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology from time to time. 8. ONBOARDING: Upcoming Schools are hereby urged to hasting their onboarding process with a view of fast tracking their approval process. 9. RECORD KEEPING: School Administrators are hereby reminded to adequately keep statutory and non-statutory records in their various schools.
