Teaching Dates MARCH 12, 2024
and Time 1:00-2:00 PM Quarter Third Quarter
I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the identity of a substance
Content Standard according to its atomic structure
The learners shall be able to participate in discussion on determining the
Performance Standard number of proton, neutrons, electrons in a particular atom.
The learners should be able to determine the number of protons, neutrons,
Learning Competency/Objectives and electrons in a particular atom S8MT-IIIef-10
Write the LC code for each.
At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:
1. Determine the number of proton, neutrons, and electrons in a
particular atom.

Before the start of the lesson, the teacher will discuss the important
Reviewing the previous lesson or reminders and classroom guidelines.
presenting the new lesson They will be divided into four groups. During discussion, actively
participating groups will receive a point/s and the teacher will
deduct a point/s to the groups that are very noisy and messy.
(Elicit) To catch the student's attention, the teacher will call them
“Samson” and they are going to respond with “Delilah”

ANAGRAM
An anagram is a word or phrases formed by rearranging the letters
of a different word or phrase, typically using all the original letters
exactly once. For example, the word anagram itself can be
rearrange into nag a ram, also the word binary into brainy and the
word adobe into abode. After forming the words, use the word/s
you have formed in a sentence. (indicator # 1, Language subject)
5. Review
True or False (1-5): The teacher will give each group two
colored paper, raised the blue if your answer is true, raised
the red color red if your answer is false. Then the answers
will be revealed.
Establishing a purpose for the lesson Presentation of the topics and lesson objectives and
let the students identify the picture by putting its label.
The teacher will show picture of the structure of atom and let them label as
proton, neutron, electron.
2
Guide Question:
1. Did you determine the proton, neutron and electron?
2. What charges carries by proton, electron and neutron?
3. Based on the figure, how many number of protons, neutrons and
electrons are there?
After determining the subatomic particles and its charges,
can you now determine the number of protons, electrons
and neutrons of elements that are arranged in the periodic
table? If Yes, How?
If no, what are you going to do to determine the number of
protons, electrons and neutrons?
(Engage)
(Ind. #6) Answers may vary but all are accepted. The teacher provides
positive feedback to encourage learning.
Indicator #4: The teacher will explain the procedures in Filipino/ Bisaya to better understand them.
GROUP ACTIVITY:
The teacher will group the class into four and distribute the materials and the activity sheets to the students and the
students will perform the activity 1. Label/provide the missing information.
3
Procedure: PART A
1. Label / provide the missing information on the given photos.
Q1. What are the missing information being ask on the activity based on the photo?

Group 2: News reporting
Group 3: Song
(indicator #9)
(Elaborate)
A short video will be presented to the class. The class will be asked with a behavioral integration question afterwards.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yooYnW8uhHk
Having viewed the video in four minutes, a question will be asked to deepen the discussion. (indicator #3)
1. How are you going to determine the number of atoms?
2. How are you going to determine the number of proton?
3. How are you going to determine the number of electron?
4. How are you going to find the atomic mass?
Finding practical application of Why is it important to determine the number of atoms, proton, neutrons,
concepts and skills in daily living electrons and atomic mass?
Answer: because it helps you to easily determine the identity of the
element from the periodic table using the number of protons (atomic
number) and adding the two amounts together will tell you the atomic mass
number.
*Set achievable and appropriate learning outcomes that are aligned with learning
competencies.
