Cute and small dinosaurs are looking for the friends.
They are crocheted very easily and quickly, 75 photos have been added
to the description. The arms and legs are attached with the help of
thread fastening, the head can be turned in different directions. Plastic
joints and cotter pins are not used in the toy.
In the pattern there is also the description of the gift wrapping and
garlands. The size of your toy will depend on the size of the chosen yarn.
The size if the following if using the pointed yarn:
Blue dinosaur: 16,5 cm
Green dinosaur: 15 cm
Abbreviations:
sc – single crochet
ch – chain
inc – increase, crochet two stitches in one
dec – decrease, crochet two stitches together
3 sc in 1 – crochet 3 sc in 1 stitch of the previous row
3 sc tog – crochet 3 sc together
X dec – X-times decrease
X inc – X-times increase
(---)x – repeat those in brackets Х times
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
When crocheting the dolls I always use a smaller size hook than is suggested on the
yarn band.
For example, if it is recommended to use a 3 mm hook I use a 1,5 mm hook. It keeps
the stitches tight and prevents the stuffing from showing through holes in the fabric.
The dolly will also be more accurate.
1. All details are crocheted in spiral rounds. This means that the round will NOT be
finished with a slst.
2. Use a stitch marker. A small thread (other colour then your working yarn) helps you
counting the rounds. Just place it at the start of a round on top of your working thread.

Decorate the belly. Step 6 stitches to the center from the markers in the 7 row, take the beige
thread and grasping the thread from inside crochet the stripes of 10 slip stitches as it is shown in
the photo. Fasten the thread also from inside. Crochet 6 rows in this way, then gradually reduce the
number of stitches in the chain in each next row. In total, there are 14 stripes on the belly of my
dinosaur.

Body
After all the strips are fixed, crochet the body to the end according to the description below.
22. (3 sc, 1 dec)х6 (24)
23. 24 sc
Stuff the body
If you would like the dinosaur's head to turn, continue crocheting the ball according to the
description below. To understand the technique, I recommend viewing the next two pages, for a
better understanding of how the head will be attached to the body.
If you just want to sew the head to the body, finish crocheting in the 23rd row, fasten off, cut the
thread.

Leave the detail not stuffed and not
crocheted to the end. Before stuffing
and crocheting it to the end, you
need to insert it into the head. Let's
move on to the head.

29. ( 5 sc, 1 dec)х 6 (36)
30. 36 sc
Take the body, put the head on it. Stuff the left part of the body, you should get a big ball, which will
not allow to pull the head out through the hole.
9
Head
More detailes of the inside the head you can see in the photos on the example of the blue dinosaur.
It is also very important to take into account that plush yarn like Katia Velvet Fine and others stretch
well. Therefore, take a needle with a thread, carefully grasp the half-loops around the base of the
head (we have 24) and pull the thread well around the neck. Fasten it.
MUZZLE
(for the muzzle you can use the yarn of the main color or for
example beige one, it’s on your discretion)
Crochet 17 ch, from the second loop from hook crochet
1. 15 sc, 3 sc in 1, further crochet along the other side of the
chain 15 sc, 3 sc in 1 (36)
2. 15 sc, 3 inc, 15 sc, 3 inc (42)
3. 15 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc)х3, 3 sc, marker for the smile 1 , 9 sc,

3 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc)х3 (48)
4. 15 sc, (2 sc, 1 inc)х3, 15 sc, (2 sc, 1 inc)х3 (54)
5- 9. 54 sc
10. (7 sc, 1 dec)х6 (48)
10
Leave a thread enough for sewing.
Head
Sew the muzzle to hide the threads inside the head.
Count out 5 rows from the bottom and begin sewing from the 5th
one, gradually add the stuffing.
Sew the muzzle placing it up to the 20th row not higher, do not
forget about the eyes. If you want, you can already insert the eyes,
but for me it is more convenient to sew without eyes, so as the eyes
do not disturb. (The markers in the photo are placed above the
places for the eyes, it's easier for me to place the muzzle correctly).
We’ve sewn the muzzle, let’s pass to the smile.
Crochet 2 more rows
31. ( 4 sc, 1 dec)х 6 (30)
32. 30 sc
Find the markers in the 3rd row of the muzzle. Insert a needle in the top of the head and take it out
to the 1 marker, step 1 stitch to the right and go back to the top of the head. Repeat the same with
the 2 marker, insert a needle from above, take it out near the 2 marker, step 1 stitch, take out to the
top of the head. Tighten the threads well and fasten off. So we get the smile.
11
Head
Insert the eyes and fix them at the wrong side.
33. ( 3 sc, 1 dec)х 6 (24)
34. ( 2 sc, 1 dec)х 6 (18)
While the head is not closed, embroider the nostrils and eyebrows. For
the nostrils make a couple of stitches between the 5 and 6 rows of the
muzzle and sew them round. The space between them is 7 stitches.
Embroider the brows in the same way, counting out 3 rows up from the
eyes. Make the brows thinner.
12
Tail
1. 6 sc in the magic ring
2. 6 inc
3- 5. 12 sc
6. (1 sc, 1 inc)х 6 (18)
7. 6 sc, 6 sc through the front loops, 6 sc (18)
8- 9. 18 sc
10. 6 sc, crochet 6 sc together with 6
stitches of the 7 row, 6 sc (18)
We get 1 fold on the tail.
21- 23. 42 sc
Stuff and sew the
tail so that the tip is
tilted downwards.
Then the dinosaur
will be able to
stand on its own.
13
Assembly
Then sew the legs to the
places where we put markers
beforehand, using the thread
fastening. Step 8-9 rows
upward from the legs and sew
the arms also using the thread
fastening.
NEEDLES
1. 6 sc in the magic ring
2. (1 sc, 1 inc)х 3 (9)
3. (2 sc, 1 inc)х 3 (12)
4. (3 sc, 1 inc)х 3 (15)
Do not stuff, fold in half, the needles should be flat.
Slightly tint the brows and nostrils using the light grey marker the
fabric. Put the dots and stretch a not long stripes in the places of
tightening. So the smile will be emphasized more.
Sew the needles and embroider the spots on the head and body of
the dinosaur, in this case I used a red thread for the blue dinosaur.
Also, these spots can be drawn arbitrarily with the marker for fabric,
they are drawn on the green dino.
You can embroider the palms on the arms using the same color as for the belly and needles.
14
Assembly
For the garlands and hats I used the yarn :
Scheepjes Catona (50 g/ 125 m)
Crocheting hook 2 mm.
Garland of flags. Crochet a necessary number of
triangles, I have 12.
Crochet 6 ch, from the second loop from hook
1. 5 sc, turn the work,
2. 1 ch, 1 dec, 1 sc, 1 dec, turn the work
3. 1 ch, 3 sc, turn the work
4. Crochet 3 sc together, fasten off, cut the yarn and
weave in the end.
Then take a long thread with a needle and gather
the flags.
The garland is ready.
GIFT BOX
8 sc in the maic ring,
1. 1 ch, (1 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
2. 1 ch, (3 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
3. 1 ch, (5 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
4. 1 ch, (7 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
Crochet the fifth row through the back loops of the
fourth row stitches.
15
Assembly
5. 1 ch, 40 sc, 1 sl st
6- 15. 1 ch, 40 sc, 1 sl st
fasten off, cut the yarn and weave in the end.
The box is ready. To make the corners clearer, I put a cardboard square on the bottom of the box.
Cover
It is crocheted similarly as the box, but the base is for 1 row bigger, so that you can close the box.
8 sc in the maic ring,
1. 1 ch, (1 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
2. 1 ch, (3 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
3. 1 ch, (5 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
4. 1 ch, (7 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
5. 1 ch, (9 sc, 3 sc in 1)х4, 1 sl st
Crochet the 6 row through the back loops of the 5 row stitches.
6. 1 ch, 48 sc, 1 sl st
7- 8. 1 ch, 48 sc, 1 sl st
fasten off, cut the yarn and weave in the end.
Bow
Crochet 16 sc, from the 2 loop from hook crochet 15 sc, leave a thread enough for sewing on the
last stripe. Fold each stripe in half and sew like a bow.
For the ends of the bow you can crochet two chains of ch st. Sew everything on top of the cover.
