General Instructions:
1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with sub parts
of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs of 3
marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided
in the 2marks questions of Section E
8. Draw neat figures wherever required. Take π =22/7 wherever required if not stated.

Section A consists of 20 questions of 1 mark each.

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each.

32 Water in a canal, 6 m wide and 1.5 m deep, is flowing with a speed of 10 km/ 5
hour. How much area will it irrigate in 30 minutes; if 8 cm standing water is
needed?
OR

Two water taps together can fill a tank in 6 hours. The tap of larger diameter

takes 9 hours less than the smaller one to fill the tank separately. Find the time

in which each tap can separately fill the tank.

From the below figure, In △ABC, the bisector of ∠B meets AC at D. A line PQ
|| AC meets AB, BC and BD at P, Q and R respectively. Show that PR × BQ = QR
× BP.

34 Two spheres of same metal weight 1 kg and 7 kg. The radius of the smaller 5
sphere is 3 cm. The two spheres are melted to form a single big sphere. Find
the diameter of the new sphere.

Water is flowing at the rate of 5 km/hour through a pipe of
diameter 14 cm into a tank with rectangular base which is 50 m
long and 44 m wide. Find the time in which the level of water tank
rises by 7 cm.
35 The distribution given below show the marks of 100 students of a class: 5

Draw a ‘less than’ type and a ‘more than’ type ogive from the given data.
Hence obtain the median marks from the graph.

SECTION E

Case study based questions are compulsory.

36 A construction company will be penalized each day of delay in the construction


of the bridge. The penalty will be ` 4000 for the first day and will increase by
` 1000 for each following day. Based on its budget, the company can afford to
pay a maximum of ` 165000 toward penalty.

(i) The penalty amount paid by the construction company from the first day as 1

have to run in the rows which are marked at a distance of 1 metre as shown in the figure. At
one time the participants are at position A, B, C, D. A has covered half the distance PQ, B has
covered 1/4th distance PQ, C has covered the distance PQ, D has covered half the distance
PQ. Considering P as origin, answer the questions given below the diagram.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions.

(iii) If another participant at E could not run due to some shoe problem, what

Teewan, Arun and Pankaj were celebrating the festival of Diwali in open ground with
firecrackers. There is a pedestal in the ground. All of sudden Teewan stands on
pedestal and release sky lantern from the top of pedestal.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions. 1

(i) If the position of Pankaj is 25 m away from the base of pedestal and Zr = 30°, then
find the height of pedestal.

(ii) If the height of pedestal is 30 m, t = 45° and z = 30°, then the horizontal distance
between Arun and Pankaj is

(iii) If the vertical height of sky lantern from the top of pedestal is 12 m and ∠y =
30°, then distance between Teewan and sky lantern is

If ∠q=60° and position of Arun is 15 m away from the base of pedestal, then find the
