Dear Administrator,
I am greatly pleased to submit this letter and resume to you. I am confident that I possess the qualities and skills required to
be a valuable addition to your school district.
At The State University of New York at Cortland, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Inclusive Childhood Education with a
concentration in social science. My experiences as a permanent substitute teacher, substitute teacher assistant, and student teacher have
afforded me the opportunity to collaborate with various educators and students within diverse classroom settings. Within these
positions, I have relied on utilizing a comprehensive pedagogy that strives to meet the unique needs of my students. As a result of
being a student teacher within sixth, fourth, and first grade classrooms that contained general education, special education, and ENL
students, I am confident in my ability to devise inclusive lessons and incorporate effective teaching strategies in order for students to
reach their highest potential. Within these settings, I interacted with parents and school personnel to broaden my understanding of how
to better support my students. I frequently sought feedback and advice as I was eager to improve as an educator.
Presently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in Literacy Education and will be graduating in July 2024. This program has provided me
with ample knowledge on literacy theories and multiple opportunities to analyze and synthesize data from various literacy assessments
across grade levels in order to determine the proper interventions to support students' literacy needs. I have guided virtual high school
students through the writing process by supplying them with mentor texts and utilizing strength-based feedback specific to their needs.
Furthermore, participating as a literacy specialist, I have collaborated with a partner teacher and engaged in co-planning,
demonstration lessons, and reflections to aid the lead teacher and their students. I continue to grow my knowledge of literacy
approaches through my attendance and leadership of professional development sessions within this rigorous program.
Currently, I am employed as a permanent substitute teacher for Harborfields Central School District within the elementary school.
Within this position, I implement curriculum and adjust to diverse classroom settings to support students with various learning
abilities. I have been frequently requested as the substitute for the self-contained classroom based on dependable performance. As a
substitute, I follow instructional plans, uphold routines and regulate classroom management. I consistently model exemplary behavior,
encourage creativity, and promote positive student relationships.
I strongly believe in attending to the diverse strengths, needs, and interests of my students and properly utilizing this information to
inform my teaching and manage classroom behaviors. I am an extremely compassionate and patient individual who finds worth in
forming genuine connections with students and colleagues. In addition to being highly organized and thorough, I pride myself in being
an incredibly trustworthy and flexible individual who implements engaging material. I maintain a desire to foster a classroom
atmosphere that encourages social-emotional learning and a growth mindset while incorporating culturally responsive teaching.
As someone who is enthusiastic about bringing my devotion and empathy into the classroom, I aim to create a respectful and
safe place where all students are motivated to excel and become lifelong learners. I believe my teaching philosophy and
favorable qualities will prove beneficial to any classroom setting. I look forward to hearing from you regarding my
candidacy. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sydney Aliperti
