One Step Alkali™

Heavy-Duty, Free-Rinsing KOH Cleaner


Product Number 1783

One Step Alkali™ is a heavy-duty alkaline liquid cleaner containing a proprietary blend of detergent
surfactants and chelating agents designed to remove soils generated in high temperature processing
equipment. This product is formulated to eliminate the need for acid washing after traditional caustic
and alkaline wash steps. It has superior cleaning, rinsing and chelating properties for use in cleaning
all high temperature processing equipment such as UHT units, dryers, evaporators, HTST systems,
and cheese processing equipment applications.

Directions for Use


Although One Step Alkali™ is formulated to eliminate the need for acid washing, certain cleaning situations
may not allow indefinite cleaning with One Step Alkali™alone; so always inspect equipment for cleanliness and
follow One Step Alkali™ wash steps with an acid wash as necessary. After cleaning, rinse with potable water.
Sanitize as required.

Method
Circulation, soak, spray and boil-out cleaning. After cleaning, post-rinse with potable water. Sanitize as
required.

Concentration
High temperature processing equipment: (Evaporators, dryers and HTST equipment) use 1 to 10
ounces per gallon of water, depending on soil load and method of cleaning.
Boil Out and soak cleaning: use 4 to 6 ounces per gallon of water at 150OF to 200OF and with mechanical
agitation to clean different type of soils (fats, proteins, grease, oils burned on residues, etc.).

Safety Information

IF ON SKIN
In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing
contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothes before reusing.
IF IN EYES
In case of contact, immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate
medical attention.
IF SWALLOWED
Drink large quantities of water. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Get immediate medical attention.
IF INHALED
Immediately move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. If
breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get immediate medical attention.
