    LESSON: PASSIVE VOICE (CÂU BỊ ĐỘNG)

    I. CÁCH CHUYỂN TỪ CÂU CHỦ ĐỘNG SANG CÂU BỊ ĐỘNG:


    Bước 1: Xác định tân ngữ của câu chủ động.
    Bước 2: Xác định thì của câu chủ động.
    Bước 3: Lấy tân ngữ của câu chủ động làm chủ ngữ cho câu bị động.
    Bước 4: Chia “to be” theo thì của câu chủ động.
    Bước 5: Hoàn thành câu bằng cách thêm “by O (S)”.
    *NOTE:
    - Nếu chủ ngữ là I, We, You, They, People, Đại từ bất định chỉ người và chỉ
    vật => Thì ta không dùng “by O (S)” trong câu bị động.
    - “by O (S)” luôn luôn đứng trước trạng ngữ chỉ thời gian.

    Ex: - We are painting the house.


    => The house is being paintsed.
    II. BỊ ĐỘNG CỦA CÁC THÌ

    1. Hiện tại đơn


    Active Passive
    (+) S + V(s/es) + O (+) S + is/am/are + Vp2 + by O
    (-) S+ do/ does + not + V + O. (-) S + is/am/are + Vp2 + by O
    (?) Do/ does (not) + S + V + O? (?) Is/am/are (not) + S + Vp2 + by O?

    Ex: - Mary studies English every day.


    -> English is studied by Mary everyday.
    2. Hiện tại tiếp diễn
    Active Passive
    (+) S + is/am/are + V-ing + O (+) S + is/am/are + being + Vp2 + by O
    (-) S + is/am/are + not + V-ing + O (-) S + is/am/are + not + being + Vp2 + by O
    (?) Is/am/are (not) + S + V-ing + O? (?) Is/am/are (not) + S + being + Vp2 + by O?

    Ex: - He is planting some trees now.


    -> Some trees are being planted by him now.
    3. Quá khứ đơn
    Active Passive

    (-) S + didn’t + V + O (-) S + was/were + not + Vp2 + by O
    (?) Did (not) + S + V + O? (?) Was/were (not) + S + Vp2 + by O?

    Ex: - She wrote a letter yesterday.


    -> A letter was written by her yesterday.
    4. Quá khứ tiếp diễn

    (+) S + was/were + V-ing + O
    (-) S + was/were + not + V-ing + O (+) S + was/were + being + Vp2 + by O

    (?) Was/were (not) + S + V-ing + O? (-) S + was/were + not + being + Vp2 + by O

    Ex: - They were washing a car at 9 am yesterday.


    -> A car was being washed at 9 am yesterday.

    Ex: - My parents have given me a new bike on my birthday.


    -> I have been given a new bike on my birthday by my parents.

    EX: - Diep is going to finish the English course.


    -> The English course is going to be finished by Diep

    *Note: Modal verbs gồm những từ: can/ could/ would/ should/ may/ might/ must/ ought

     These contracts should be signed by the manager today.
