The Pride of India On Road
As we all know the wrestlers like Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and
Sakshi Malik are pride of India, but now a days these wrestlers are
figh ng for their jus ce. They are protes ng on Jantar-Mantar against
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, MP as well as president of Wrestling
Federa on of India. These wrestlers have accused him for sexual
harassment. These wrestlers have made an allega on that he has
harassed many female wrestlers. The main problem here is that police
has filed a case only a er an order from Supreme Court. These
wrestlers earlier went to file an FIR against Brij Bhushan Singh. But the
police had refused to register the FIR.
But as per the law the FIR related to sexual harassment should be filed
immediately, but the non-registra on of case shows the influence on
Brij Bhushan on law and order.
This is not the first me when these wrestlers are protes ng against
Brij Bhushan Singh. In January also the same thing has been done, but
there was no response by the administra on against him. On 21st April
seven wrestlers went to the Police sta on to file an FIR against MR.
Singh, the police have not registered their case, then a er all the
wrestlers gathered on Jantar Mantar and started a protest.
Brij Bhushan has countered their ques on by saying if wrestlers are
sa sfied with my resigna on, then I will resign. But the wrestlers are
demanding Mr. Singh behind the bars.
Now this has become a hot deba ng issue in our country. On one side
the administra on tells us that everyone should have trust on law and
order of our country, but on the other hand the pride of India is
struggling on road for the jus ce. Many leaders of opposi on has
come and showed their sympathy with the wrestlers and asked
ques ons from the government as well.
Wrestler Punia has also raised ques on against the commi ee made
by sports ministry for the inves ga on and PT Usha has said that these
wrestlers are very undisciplined.
PT Usha said, “their ac on has tarnished the image of India”, in
response Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor said, “ignoring their pleas
tarnishes the country's image, not hearing them out.” A er this
incident many leaders of opposi on has targeted the government.
Then Bajrang Punia replied, “Several people are entering in our protest
site and trying to project our movement as a Bhadkau Aandolan. But
I want to tell them that this is the fight to save Indian wrestling from
People like Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. People are here to support us
and not to drive any poli cal gain.”
