UNIT 1: Your typical day

I usually get up at 6:30 in the morning. After washing my face and brushing my teeth, I
have breakfast and go to school by motorbike. Usually, I study at school until 11 a.m.
After that I go back home and have lunch with my family. In the afternoon, I go out with
friends. I come back home, have dinnerat 7 p.m. After dinner, I do my home work and go
to bed at 10:30 p.m.
UNIT 2: Your future job
Currently I am studying food technology at Hanoi Open University. I want to get a job
related to my field of study. Therefore, my future job is to ensure food quality and
research and develop new products. Every day I study and practice at school so that I can
quickly do the job I want. In the future, this job will bring me a high source of income. I
really like my future job.

UNIT 3
1. Your free time activities
I’m going to tell you about my free time activities. The weekend is the most free time, I
alway come back home with my family. There are my grandmother, my parents and
sisters. I will go shopping with my mother and my sister, we will buy clothes, shoes, or
household tools. Besides, I will cook with my mother. I like it the most because I will
share things about my studies and jobs.

2. Your Hobby
I’m going to tell you about my hobby. I want to travel around the world but I will go to
63 provinces in Vietnam. In my opinion, I learn many things such as knowledge of
cultural regions, improving communication, languageing,... Moreover , I can sightsee the
sea, mountains, valleys,... It’s beautiful. I also enjoy delicious food at each location. It
was a great feeling that I could see the beauty of the places I went, make new friends and
experience food everywhere. Traveling helps me feel good and at ease. Traveling to new
lands helps me to have many different experiences.

UNIT 4:
My house is in Soc Son, Hanoi. It’s a small house with 2 floors. There it a yard in front.
My house is paint yellow and has a blue roof. The house has a main door and many
window. The house has 1 living room,1 kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I like most
the kitchen because I like cooking. The house is where my family live so I love my house
very much.
UNIT 5:
1. A talented person
Talking about a famous singer, the first name I think of is Son Tung M-TP. He is
considered the “boy of the rain” in the Vietnamese music scene because all of his songs
mention “rain”. I really love his songs. Son Tung is 25 years old this year. Previously, he
was an A-list star loved by many young people. With his talent and hard work, he
established his own entertainment company. Son Tung still tries his best to develop his
career. This is what makes me a huge fan of him. It can be said that Son Tung is an
example for me to learn about effort and effort.

2. In my family member that you feel close to

In my family, the person I live and respect the most is my mother. My mother is a
beautiful and gentle woman. She is the family’s housewife. Every day, my mother and I
often cook for his family. When I encounter diffculties, the first person I thnk of my
mother. Mom will share and give me solutions. That’s why I’m closest to my mom in the
family.i love my mother very much.
UNIT 6:
1. Your best friend
I think everybody at least has one close friend in their life. And so do I. I have one close
friend, Thao. we study in the same class in secondary school. Thao is a beautiful girl with
big black eyes and an oval rosy face. She is kind, hardd working and very intelligent.We
often read book, watch movies, play game and drink coffe together. She always beside
me when I sad or happy. We are happy when we are together. I love her very much. I
hope our friendship will never die.
2. Your day yesterday
Yesterday was a nice day for me, I did a loy of interesting things. In the morning, I get
up, brush my teeth and have breakfast. At noon, I have lunch at home with fish, beef,
rice, vegetables. In the afternoon, I went to drink coffe with my family friends. I came
home at 5 p.m. I had dinner with my family and then we sat down to watch TV. I had a
great day.

I’m going to tell you about my life. Now I am a freshman at Open University Ha Noi. I
live with my sister at students’ accommodation. Outside of my time, I work a part time
job at a coffee shop near my place where I live. On the weekend, I will come back home
with my family and eat meals my mother cooks.. I feel happy with this life.

UNIT 9:
1. Do you want to live in a big city?
Living in the city offers many career development options, cultural experiences and a
vibrant social life. But I don't like living in the city because I currently live in Hanoi city,
there are many environmental problems such as air pollution and dust. It causes climate
change and degraded air quality. Besides, water pollution is also a big problem in the
city. The cost of living in cities is huge and can include high rent, expensive groceries,
and expensive transportation costs.

2. Do you want to live in the countryside?

I want to live in the countryside because I have family and friends there. I can take care
of my parents and hang out with friends. Besides, the air in my hometown is very fresh
and quiet because there are many mountains and trees. We have large rice fields, open
spaces and grasslands. People in the countryside are very harmonious. friendly and
personable, when someone is in trouble, they are willing to lend a hand. And above all,
everything in the countryside is cheaper than the city. For the reasons mentioned above,
the countryside is wonderful and liveable

I’m going to tell you about where I live. Now, I live in Hanoi city, where there are many
buildings, parks, shopping malls, schools, hospitals,... so everything is very convenient.
But it is crowded, always a traffic jam in the morning and in the afternoon. I often went
to school 30 minutes earlier so as not to be late. However, I still love Hanoi very much

4. Your capital city

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam. It is famous for its many great places, food and the
Hanoi people. I am very proud to be born and raised in Hanoi. Hanoi attracts a million
visitors each year. Hanoi has many tourist attractions such Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum, Hoa
Lo Prison, The One Pillar Pagoda and so on. Each place has its own sacred historical
significance. But it is crowded, always a traffic jam in the morning and in the afternoon.
Looking at Hanoi, we feel a city that is both modern and ancient. Hanoi leaves in each

One of my relatives is my mother. My mother is 40 years old this year. She has a slim
body and a tall figure. She also has white skin and black hair. Her eyes are black and her

5. One of your favorite teachers

Every teacher who comes into my life leaves me with many lessons, but the one I love
the most is Ms Dung. She is my middle school homeroom teacher. She is a strict person,
my whole class is scared when she comes. Ms.'s class. But thanks to that, I have learned
to be disciplined. She has a petite figure, she often wears black shirts and pants. Her
school bag holds a lot of good things, including books, teaching tools, and tests. Sadly,
last year she got sick and passed away. I still remember the beautiful memories of her and
me. Thank you for teaching me so many things. That teacher is my best teacher.

UNIT 11:

1. Your future travel plans

I'm planning an amazing trip to Japan. It's been a dream of mine to visit this beautiful
country, and I've been researching and putting together an exciting itinerary. I'll start my
journey in Tokyo, the bustling metropolis that seamlessly combines tradition and
modernity. I plan to explore the historic Asakusa district, visit the iconic Senso-ji
Temple, and wander around the lively streets of Shibuya. Of course, I'll experience the
high-tech wonders of Akihabara and enjoy the delicious street food. This trip is a perfect
blend of history, culture, and culinary delights, and I can't wait to immerse myself in the
beauty of Japan.

2. Your plans for this weekend

The weekend is an occasion that everyone is looking forward to. A tiring working
week always needs a weekend to relax. On weekends I will wake up later than usual. The
feeling of getting enough sleep helps me feel well. This weekend I plan to go camping
with my friends. We will leave at 9am. When we arrive, we will set up a tent and grill a
barbecue. Then we will sit and have lunch together. In the afternoon we will play and
take pictures. I will come home at 6pm and cook and have dinner with my family. A
great weekend plan.

3. Your last holiday

My last day off before going back to school. I get up early with my mother to have
breakfast. Then we go to the market to buy things. At noon, I cook with my mother. In
the afternoon I will go out and drink. Coffee with friends on the last day of the holiday. In
the evening I will have dinner with my family and chat together. Then I will go arrange
things so I can return to school tomorrow. Officially ending the last day of the holiday.

UNIT 12:
1. Your English class
My English class has 48 students. My English teacher is Ms. Que. Every time I come
to an English class, I feel very happy and excited. Ms. Que teaches English very well and
enthusiastically. .She often lets us play games to remember new words, making English
class always fun. She also often makes us laugh so the whole class doesn't feel bored or
sleepy. I really like English class.

2. Your favorite transport

This year, my dad just bought me an electric motorbike. It is made of plastic, black in
color. The bike has full accessories such as: lights, horn, incense sticks, hangers... The
maximum speed is 70km/h. Every day, I often go to school by electric motorbike. To
avoid running out of power in the middle of the road, when I run out of power, I often
have to charge the car. This is a gift my father gave me, so I really like it.

3. The weather in your hometown

My hometown is a countryside on the outskirts of Hanoi - Soc Son. In the summer, it
is hot and there are showers. In the fall, the weather there is very pleasant and cool.
Winter is the coldest season of the year. The year is dry. Spring will be wet. The weather
there is fresher than in the inner city of Hanoi because it is surrounded by mountains and
there are many trees. I love the weather in my hometown.

4. A festival
 Lunar New Year festival, also known as Tet, is the biggest traditional festival in my
country, Viet Nam. Tet is usually from the end of January to early February. Before Tet,
Vietnamese people prepare many things, we always want everything to be perfect for the
new year. In particularly, we clean the house and decorate it with flowers and trees such
as kumquat tree, peach blossom,… During Tet, we visit our relatives and give them
wishes. Traditionally, elders will give lucky money to children and the oldest people in
the family. However, nowadays, we can give it to anyone including friends, parents,
neighbors. Besides, Vietnamese usually go to pagodas or temples to pray for health,
wealth, success. All in all, Tet is all about going back to origins, being good to others,
enjoying the precious moment, and wishing for the best to come.
