New Year
My second new year’s resolution is to eat healthier. I have learnt in school how important
nutrition is and why it is good to eat a balanced diet. I am aiming to drink more milk, as it has
calcium which is great for bones. I know I should eat more vegetables and fruits, especially when
my mum puts green foods on my plate. For this new year I will try to eat more as this will help
me have more energy for the day. Eating sweets and chocolate is completely fine as long as it is
done in balance, it is best to eat most of my favourite treats like Hershey’s on special events like
Halloween and birthdays etc. I am going to do this by including at least two fruits and vegetables
in every meal.
My third new year’s resolution is to start swimming again. I started swimming when I was seven
years old in the summer, and I recently stopped swimming in September. I got a bit sick in
September so I had to stop swimming and I never managed to get back into it. I really enjoyed
learning to swim and I achieved a level 6 in my classes. I am putting this as my new year’s
resolution as I want to develop my interests outside of school. This Spring I will start again with
my baby cousin and maybe I can start to teach her when she is older. I think it’s important for me
to keep practising so I can one day take part in competitions.
Another new year’s resolution is to pursue some of my hobbies, especially chess. I want to start
going to chess club soon. I have a chess board at home and I have been playing with my older
brother, so and far I haven’t been able to beat him yet which is another reason why I want to
practise at chess club. I am playing more chess as my new year’s resolution because it is a good
game to make your brain stronger as it is a strategy game. I can motivate myself for this
resolution by teaching my friends how to play so they can play with me.
My final new year’s resolution is to read more books. I am going to do this new years resolution
by going to the library more often and checking out books to read in my spare time. I think this a
great use of my time instead of TV although I have said it many times, I honestly think this a
very great use of my time as books are like shows or movies but in words. They are a very fun
adventurous way spending your time. I am going to aim to read one large book a month or three
small ones. This will also help me in school as I have learnt that reading can improve your
writing skills. Now I conclude this page
