Crochet toy pattern

Materials and tools:
1. Sport yarn:
- Orange (YarnArt Jeans 23)
- White (YarnArt Jeans 62)
- Yellow (YarnArt Jeans 67)
- Mint (YarnArt Jeans 79)
2. Black thread to embroider eyebrows and nose
3. White thread for sewing
4. Safety eyes 8 mm
5. Crochet hook 2.00 mm
6. Stuffing (Polyester fiber fill)

If you use these materials, the finished toy is around 25 cm (10") tall.

There are no crochet instructions included in the pattern.


It's assumed that you're familiar with the basic crochet stitches.
The difficulty level of the pattern is medium.
In this pattern is used US terminology.

Abbreviations:
st – stitch
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
inc – increase
dec – decrease

Arms:
Crochet with orange yarn.
Stuff only 2/3 of the arm.
1. 6 sc into a magic ring (6)

Fold the arm in half and crochet 6 sc through both sides.
Fasten off, cut the yarn.

Legs:
Start crocheting with yellow yarn. Stuff as you go.
Make chain 6, start in the second chain from the hook:
1. inc, 3 sc, 4 sc into the last chain, work on along the other side, 3 sc, inc (14)
2. 2 inc, 3 sc, 4 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc (22)

Change the yarn to white color. Don’t cut the
yellow yarn, move it to the front of your work.

Change the yarn to orange color.
Before we continue with the leg, we need to make the shoe:
With the yellow yarn crochet 25 sl st to the front loops of round 11.
Fasten off, cut the yarn. Hide the thread inside the body.
Now attach the yellow yarn to the front loops of round 5.
Crochet 38 sl st with the body turned upside down (look at the picture).
Fasten off, cut the yarn. Hide the thread inside the body.
You can embroider stripes on the shoe with the mint yarn.

Continue crocheting the leg with orange yarn:


15-24. 18 sc (10 rounds)
Change the yarn to white color:
25. 18 sc
26. back loops only: 18 sc

For the left leg: Make a sl st , fasten off,


cut the yarn.
For the right leg: Don’t cut the yarn, we will
continue with the body, but we need to make the frill first:
Attach the white yarn to the front loops of round 26.
Crochet with the body turned upside down: (sc, chain 2)*18
Fasten off, cut the yarn. Hide the thread inside the body.

Body:
1. Crochet 8 sc more on the right leg, make chain 6 and attach the yarn to the
left leg where they look symmetrical. The toes should point slightly inwards.
Crochet 18 sc on the left leg; 6 sc on the chain; 18 sc on the right leg;
6 sc on the chain; put the marker here (48)

the front of your work.

Stuff the body firmly, especially in the neck.

Cut the orange yarn, we will continue with the head, but first we need to
make the dress:

Skirt:
Attach the white yarn to back of the body in the front loops of round 12.
Crochet with the body turned upside down (look at the picture):
1. 48 inc dc (96)
2-5. 96 dc (4 rounds)
Fasten off, cut the yarn. Hide the thread inside the body.

Now attach the mint yarn to back of the body in the front loops of round 14.

Frill:
With the mint yarn we left, crochet in the front
loops of round 25.
Crochet with the body turned upside down:

5 sl st, 2 inc hdc, 4 inc dc, 2 inc hdc, 9 sl st, 2 inc hdc,
4 inc dc, 2 inc hdc, 4 sl st.

Fasten off, cut the yarn. Hide the thread inside the body.

Head:
Change the yarn to white color. Stuff as you go.

Insert the safety eyes in the marked points.

Make sure that the head is stuffed firmly.


Close the opening and hide the yarn inside.

Muzzle:
Crochet with white yarn.

Make a sl st, fasten off and cut the yarn.


Using the black thread, embroider the nose.
Sew the muzzle with the white thread between rounds 4 and 11.

Head sculpting (look at the pictures):
Mark the points 1 and 2, 3 and 4 with pins, as it’s shown in the photo.
Insert a long threaded needle through the head bottom and pull it out from
the point 1. Then reinsert into the point 2 and pull out from the head bottom.
Make the needle sculpting for the second eye in the same way. Pull the
thread ends tight and tie a knot. Hide the thread inside the head.

Ears:
Crochet with orange yarn.

leaving a tail for sewing.
Sew the ears between rounds 14 and 24

The ear should be slightly curved.

Start crocheting with white yarn.

Fold the tail in half and crochet 6 sc through both sides.


Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.
Sew the tail in the middle of the back, 2 rounds under the skirt.

Ribbon:
Crochet with yellow yarn.
1. Make chain 15 and crochet 14 sc on the chain
2-7. ch 1, turn, 14 sc (6 rounds)
Fasten off, cut the yarn. Hide the thread inside the ribbon.
