GURPS ULTRATECH MASS COMBAT Character survival and glory

Based on Warhammer 40k universe 1. Calculate your Battle skill Battle skill=(main weapon skill + Tactics)/2; Initially survival and glory equals your Battle skill 2. Declare priorities Declare if will you redistribute up to +x (up to 5) to survival, giving x to glory (ie act carefully & hanging back); or vice versa (ie going bravely forward into the thick of it) 3. Apply equipment & abilities modifiers Circumstance Going melee in shooting-dominated combat Going melee unarmed (stacks with above) Flack armor Flack armor with decent limbs Carapace level armor, full suit Poorly armored Unarmored Inferior armament (not-cool pistol only) Cool weapons /offensive abilities (Hellgun, special weapon, monochain weapon) Really damn cool weapons /offensive abilities (bolter, power weapons/ powerful psychicattacks) 4. Apply opposition modifiers General Examples description Lame Pre-gunpowder primitives Weak Inferiorly armed civilians Normal PDF, armed gangs, Competent Imperial guard, Orks Cool Eldar, lesser demons, tyranids, Too cool Space marines, full blown demonic intervention 5. Calculate modified Glory and Survival skills by adding all the modifiers 6. Make Glory and Survival rolls Instead of re-rolls, Luck may be used to add +2 to a failed roll, or +1 to successful roll. 7. Apply results Survival Margin 5+ or crit No damage success 3-4 succ D6 dmg 0-2 succ 2d6 dmg Failure 2d6+2d6/margin of failure, in number of 3d6 wounds Crit 4d6+2d6/margin of failure, failure in number of 5d6 wounds

Glory Margin 10+ or crit success 7-9 succ 6 succ 3 fails 4-6 fails

+2 temporary reputation, chance of promotion, +1 strategy for leader +1 temporary reputation, chance of promotion -1 temporary reputation, less loot -2 temporary reputation, demotion and no loot

7 or more fails or crit fail Apply glory margin of success to Glory stat.
