(Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. Blessed is Your Name and exalted is Your Majesty.
There is no god but You)

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful).

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our beloved
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), his family, his companions, and all those who follow his
righteous path until the Day of Judgment.

Brothers and sisters in Islam, assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

Today, I want to emphasize the importance of parents in Islam. Our parents hold a special
place in our hearts and in the sight of Allah. It is our duty to honor, respect, and care for
them.

Allah says in the Quran, in Surah Al-Isra, Chapter 17, Verse 23: "And your Lord has decreed
that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both
of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], 'uff,' and do not
repel them but speak to them a noble word." This verse highlights the significance of
treating our parents with kindness and respect. Even the slightest expression of
annoyance or disrespect is discouraged. Instead, we are advised to speak to them with
honor and dignity.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized the rights of parents. He said,
"Paradise lies at the feet of mothers" and "The pleasure of Allah is in the pleasure of one's
father, and the anger of Allah is in the anger of one's father."
Our parents have sacrificed so much for us. They have provided us with love, care, and
guidance since the day we were born. It is our duty to show them gratitude and
appreciation for all that they have done.

Let us strive to fulfill our obligations towards our parents. We should be obedient and
respectful, listen to their advice, and make them proud. We should be there for them in
their times of need and care for them as they have cared for us.

For those of us who have lost our parents, let us remember them in our prayers and
continue to do good deeds in their memory. Let us honor their legacy by embodying the
values and teachings they instilled in us.

To conclude this khutbah, let us always cherish and value the role of parents in our lives.
Let us fulfill our obligations towards them, showing them the love, respect, and gratitude
they deserve. By honoring our parents, we obey Allah's commandments and seek His
pleasure.

May Allah bless our parents, grant them good health and happiness, and reward them
abundantly for their sacrifices. May He guide us to be dutiful and loving children, and may
He grant us the ability to fulfill our obligations towards our parents.
