Materials

• 2mm crochet hook or any size you prefer


• I have used 100% 4ply cotton yarn, Sport weight yarn. Cream, red, black, green or colors
of your choice. The finished doll is 23cm/9inches tall.
• Cotton Yarns that I recommend: Catania, Paintbox, Scheepjes, Lion Brand
• Tapestry needle
• Dress maker pins
• Scissors
• Makeup: pink or red blush and a small brush
• Stuffing (fiberfill, polyfill, etc.)

(If you want to put support inside your amigurumi you will need a hot glue stick what you
put inside the body to hold the head.)

Abbreviations
st – stitch inchdc – 2hdc in the same st
ch – chain BLO – back loops only
mc – magic circle FLO – front loops only
sl – slip stitch CHC – change color
inc – increase (2sc in the same st) (…) x n – sequence in the brackets you
dec – decrease (2 sc worked together) have to repeat n times
hdc – half double crochet (…) – number st at the end of the row
dc – double crochet

Useful Tips
• All amigurumi toys are crocheted with tight stitches. Avoid small holes. If there are any
holes through which stuffing material can be seen, use a smaller size hook. (Use a smaller
hook size than is recommended on the label of the yarn.)

• To avoid seams, all rounds are worked in a continuous spiral. Do not join or turn it unless
otherwise instructed.

• Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the last stitch of every round.

• Stuff your amigurumi as you go. It is very hard to stuff the detail evenly when it is
almost finished. While stuffing do not forget to shape the body parts to give them a nice
accurate shape. Never over stuff them.

Stuff the arms and shape them as you work. Be careful do not overstuff them! Fold it in half, sc

You will crochet together the arms with the body. You have to make them before you start to

When you have made your last stitch, crochet a sl. Do not cut the yarn, continue with the hair

Hair Strand
Ch33, start to crochet sl in the 2nd stich from the hook: 32sl, finish with 1st on the wig and leave
a long tail for sewing.

parting

Hair
Sew the wig onto the head. Position the parting 7-8 rows above the right eye.
Right side: Sew the hair strand next to the wig from the parting to just above the left eye. Let the
end curl.

R2 Start from the 3rd stitch from the hook, 38hdc, sl
Make one. Sew onto the wig on the right side, lining up with the eye. See the pictures below.

Rose
R1 Start with red. Ch10,
R2 Crochet a (sl, sc, sl) in the 2nd st from the hook, then the next stitch a
(sc, hdc), after (hdc, sc), (sc, hdc), (hdc, sc), (sc, hdc), (3dc), (hdc, sc, sl)
Roll up the petals. Secure the flower with several stitches from the back. Make one.

Leaf
Start with green. Ch6, sl in the 2nd st from the hook, sc, hdc, dc, (hdc and sl) in the same stitch.
(Do not cut the yarn!) Ch6 sl in the 2nd st from the hook, sc, hdc, dc, (hdc and sl) in the same
stitch. Make one.

Sew the rose onto the sl in the middle and then to the hair. See pictures below.

Cheeks
Use a little brush and pink or red blush to paint the cheeks under the eyes.
