fellow youth, and that you hope your school mates will likewise be
inspired.
3. Look for an appropriate quotation to end your speech.

2. Don't make your speech too long. A short and sweet speech will be more

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT SPEECH

by Marie Corsine Honor S. Marie Corsine Uy

Good evening soon-to-be ladies and gentlemen, teachers, and beloved
school director. We’ve all had an astonishing school year full of mistakes,
misunderstandings, laughs, smiles, and other flotsam and jetsam. There have
been many times when we had wished that all time would slow down to a stop,
the reason being for that particular moment not to pass us by, that we could
relish in the endless gaiety of life’s delectations. However, every beginning has
its end, every alpha has its omega, every delight has its downfall; and as it is,
every freshman will eventually reach his or her senior year. We, the seniors,
used to be amateur freshmen. After four years of mishaps and many, many
other experiences, we have developed into the seniors that we are now. But, at
the present, we are soon to leave this senior year and set foot in a new
adventure, a new perspective of life: college. We will be leaving the domain of
Maternelle Academy in less than two months. Two short, exciting months is all
we have left of this school year. Next school year, you, the juniors, will be called
“seniors” in our stead, which will mean great opportunities, responsibilities, and
challenges will be bestowed onto your shoulders and into your hands for you to
mold and shape as you see fit.
On today’s occasion, the JS Prom 2015, we, the Seniors of Maternelle
Academy’s Graduating Batch 2014-2015 will soon be departing from our alma
mater to a new stage in life. We, the seniors, will be placing on your, the
juniors’, shoulders the task of sustaining the name of the senior class. We know
you will perform this task well, as each batch has their own unique identity. We
have the utmost confidence in you. In this will, we entrust to you our assets;
here, we pass them on to you.
If the Chicago Bulls have Michael Jordan, and the Lakers have Magic
Johnson, then the seniors have their own basketball MVP’s, specifically
mentioning Christian stian Dave Rostata Daep and Jonathan Sta. Teresa. With
their phantom-like footwork and les parfoises stances no one can predict their
must move on the court. They leave their sweaty jerseys to all of the male
juniors.
When boredom strikes during class hours, everyone tries to keep himself or
herself from falling asleep, with a few notable exceptions. Proving that their
prowess allow them sleep through multiple rackets, clamors, and chaos, Joshua
Bustamante, Jacob Bustamante, Dhanielle Sanchez, and Shania Gonzaga, the
experts in the art of sleeping leave their sleeping pillows to Ulbert Garces, and
Thirdy Abangan, as well as their sleeping trophies to Jarod Erasmo and Algie
Dael.
If “a picture is worth a thousand words”, then more than a million pictures
would have already been developed by Dhanielle Sanchez, Shania Gonzaga,
Jonathan Sta. Teresa, Jacob Bustamante, Joshua Bustamante, Christian Daep,
Macky Demecillo, and Ahl Khryss Quiapo. With their generosity in sharing their
knowledge at random times, they leave their last chatters, filters, and selfies to
all the all the juniors.
She can dress up in the most sassiest styles possible, and if there is anyone
who takes more care of her looks than this girl, that person would be having
facial surgery. The one and only Shania Gonzaga, leaves her ability to beautify
is passed on to another lover of beauty: Tatyannah Collamat.
The baby is now a lady? That is the question, because though smart yet lady-
like, she still has to grow up. Pretty and K-Dot, she will always be our baby girl
– the crème de la crème, Dhanielle Sanchez, who leaves her prudent, pretty,
and astounding looks to all the female juniors.
The Voice divas, otherwise known as the girls with the golden voices, Marie
Corsine Honor Uy and Allyshan Mulet bequeath their 24-karat vocal cords to
Benjie Abella and Darla Jugno.
“More Than Words” could not apply to these ladies to be mentioned. They
could talk nonstop for hours. The Queens of Talk, Dhanielle Sanchez and Shania
Gonzaga, pass on their scepters of immortal words to Elvie Alvarez and
Tatyannah Collamat.
“White hair is the crown of wisdom and experience.” Now, white hair is not
always a sign of old age, and the evidences would be Dwight Torreon and
Marian Zosa, who have lots of them. They may be our grandparents, our
youthful lolo’s and lola’s, but pass on their crowns to Tatyannah Collamat.
With every Pinoy movie, there’s always a love team: Kathniel (Kathryn
Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), KimXi (Kim Chiu and Xiam Lim), JaDine (James
Reid and Nadine Lustre). But among the seniors, we have our very own Dwight
Torreon and Marian Zosa, whose skinny love never fails to amaze us. This love
team is delighted to pass on their chemistry and history to Anne Zosa and Blithe
Jan Gonzales of the juniors.
As fun as hearing echoes in wide spaces is, it’s even more fun to have a live
echo repeating after your words wherever you go, and even adding a joke or
two here and there. Famed comedian Jonathan Sta. Teresa, passes on his talent
to make everything so much funnier to both Mekko Milliares and Jarod Erasmo.
The class of uniforms is an eclectic whorl of Technicolor. But another world
of kaleidoscopes exists, just not in the way you expect it to be. You’ll see the
people who follow this dress code most in a secluded office writing a thousand
sentences repeatedly. Motley-clothed Shania Gonzaga, Dhanielle Sanchez, Jacob
Bustamante, and Joshua Bustamante hand over their no-uniform clothing style
to Thirdy Abangan and Algie Dael.
Don’t you ever get both annoyed and amazed with people who eat as much
food as a vacuum cleaner can suck up dust, yet never gain weight? The seniors
have their very own food vacuum, although she isn’t as lightweight as she was
before. Mikhaila Dahil donates all her food to Thirdy Abangan.
Pinoy number one problem: height. But at a 5’10 stature, Jose Miguel Danao
has nothing to worry about. He would be delighted to pass on his towering
stature to all of the juniors, males and females alike… and hopefully partly to
the rest of the seniors as well.
We, the seniors, would like to share and pass on our big hearts to you
juniors, for we have every intention and desire to help you in your progress any
way we can, whether it be big or small, extravagant or subtle.
Juniors, we are handling down to you these assets for a more successful
year to come. On behalf of the seniors, allow me to express my thanks and
deepest appreciations to the people who have helped us become who we are
today, and who have helped us reach this high a height of the ever-ascending
stepping stones of life.
Thank you Teachers Jess Cajilig, the seniors’ advisor, who wasn’t able to
make it to this majestic event, Rudlyn Mistula, Raymart Gabutan, Camille Cui,
Kaye Satinitigan, Lucille Catalan, Jurren Lacson, Glenn Bazar, Winnie Labra,
Ronel Añosa, Maylene Miral, Joy Semblante, Charise Camay, Leslie Mulet,
Valerie Cui, Sir Ramon Cui, Alfreda Busmeon, Analyn Sinugbuhan, Tiffany
Ruelan, Madeleine Torregosa, Judith Ceniza, and Krisani Guille for always
encouraging us to do our best and give 110% at everything we do and have to
do.
Thank you juniors for always sharing your smiles when times seem bleak.
Keep up the good work – both in educational and social aspects.
Soon, we may be walking different paths, most probably away from one
another. We are soon to be at a crossroads. We will soon be required to choose
which road to take, which yellow brick road to reach a beautiful, glittering
Emerald City. We can only dream, hope, and pray that one day, fate will decide
for all of us to meet again at the right place, time, and situation. Thank you,
and once again, good evening to you all.

THE CLASS PROPHECY
HIGH SCHOOL JS PROM 2008
Lend me your ears. In just a minute, we’ll take a trip to the future. Stand back, widen
your imagination and enjoy the trip. Let’s explore the year 2020.

Year 2020. I was awaken by the melody of the songs by the Broadway singers Reycarte
Elicor and Bernadette Saducas, coming from the neighborhood.

I stood up, stretched my body the same way as the physical therapists Laudimer
Suniega, Rameses Tagose, John Three Pacultad and Aileen Ruelan instructed on their
TV show, “Stay Fit”.

After awhile, I reached for the remote control for my daily morning news habit. As I
turned it on, I heard the familiar voice of Ruben Gono delivering the headlines of the
early morning edition of the “Daily Prophet”. Fellow TV newscasters Al Dofiles and
Violeta Paterno were later focused on screen. After them, Lady Cris Abayata finished
the news and public affairs program with juicy details of the “Star Scoop” portion.

Moments later, I turned off the TV. I was preparing my breakfast when my doorbell
rang. I left the kitchen and headed straight to open the door. There stood a man
carrying a package. The label goes, “To: Ma. Kristine C. Yuzon; From: Summitmedia”.
The package was a set of magazines from their company, I get free monthly as their
endorser.

I opened the box and read the first magazine, “The Gossip”, edited by Aisa Insepido.
Featuring in it’s cover, the international dance group, “Jive”, headed by their leader and
choreographer Charmaine Monroid with Jovelyn Lonzaga, Regine Dimagnaong,
Reymund Camilo and Noriel Jay Niñeza, and also the stars of the must-seen TV Sitcom,
“Babae po ako”, Crislyn Salda and Alvin Vergara.

The next magazine, “Totally Young”, features the daughter of Janice Pangaldin and
Oliver Tungal, as she wins the ‘2020 Ice Skating Competition for Kids’ held at Los
Angeles, California. Pangaldin was the owner of the internationally renowned 5-star
hotel in US with almost 50 branches all over the world, while Tungal was the Governor
of the state of Wisconsin.

After scanning the pages of some magazines, I sat comfortably at my newly bought
rattan furniture, manufactured by DSL Woodcraft, Inc. owned by Elmer Bigtasin, Ryan
Preglo and Darren Tampipi.
Next, I browse the glossy pages of the magazine, “Vogue”. From its cover, featuring top
ramp model Ronna May Ugay and Ryca Joy Pantinople to the featured stories on the
Olympic Gold Medallists Ria Mae Gebana and Ian Lloyd Aniñon by Diane Jane Bastatas,
and the famous fortune-teller turned print-ad model Charles Avon Ochia. The lay outing
done by artist Jefferson Sangutan was simply fantastic. I’m sure the magazine’s
manager Julito Espinosa was grinning ear to ear.

Then went my cellular phone’s sound. It was a message from my manager! It goes,
“We’ll have a meeting with the producers of your new movie today. Be at the office at
9:30 am. And we need to talk for your schedule today.” What a busy day!!! Being one
of the most famous Hollywood personalities really isn’t that easy!

I looked at my watch. It was quarter to eight.

I finished my breakfast and took a bath. After, I mixed and matched my clothes and get
dressed. I called my personal driver and ordered him to drive me to the meeting place.
I left the house at nine.

On the way, I continued browsing the pages of another magazine entitled “The
Architecture Today”. Featuring the masterpieces of interior designer Rocelyn Piala,
architecture Gibson Libatan and civil engineers Louie Cullamat, Jimmy Sibonga and Neil
Jun Pañamogan.

I was nearly on the verge of dozing off, when, I suddenly heard the latest song of all
female bands, “Three Sisters”, with Jean Rose, Mary Grace and Rowena Siton, I become
startled and so, I immediately awoke. I was fond of watching the things outside the car
until one billboard caught my eyes. It stars the winners of the ‘2020 Miss World
Pageant’ Anna Mei Asombrado, Mildy Joy Coronado, Arlene Bongo and Ruby Jane
Martel. They were as beautiful as the morning sun that never fades.

The trip was so fast that I did not noticed I was already at the office.

I then saw myself rushing to the Costumers’ Relation Desk. I then asked Mary Grace
Requina with her partner Reynan Lemerin if someone could escort me to the room of
our meeting. Lemerin guided me to the meeting room.

I saw some talent managers like Glenny Delos Reyes, Jay Matango and Anacel Sanico
and business administrators Vladimir Constantino, Rodel Gabonales and Dennis Dave
Jorillo. After some minutes of waiting, the nacreous business tycoon, Jeri Mae Quero
who’s one of my closest friends and she will be the producer of my movie that will have
a worldwide release arrived with some media men headed by Angely Pantajo.
The meeting ran smoothly. After an hour and a half of talking with them, finally the
contract signing began. Lawyers Jered Vergara and Lydy Frency Aniñon prepared the
contracts.

After that, my manager informed me that I’d have a lunch meeting with my Charity for
Homeless Children at the John Hancock Center, and then a visit to the conference of
the International Aeronautical Society of Los Angeles @ the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

It was past eleven. After talking with my manager, I called my driver and ordered him
to drive me to the John Hancock Center.

On my way, I saw very well known “Twin Beauty Boutique” ran by twins Hexelle and
Hexenne Borja. They specializes stylish dresses and accessories for teens and teens at
heart. You can see the beauty of it through the picture of the Hollywood actress and
singer Yaniesa Dagpin placed in front of their boutique.

After almost 20 minutes, the car came to at halt. I’m already at the Center. Outside the
window, I saw paparazzi waiting for me. I put my hat and glasses on like what Paris
Hilton does. I went out of the car and was escorted by the hotel security up to the room
reserved for my charity and me. Along the corridors of the hotel, all the people I passed
have cameras at hand, flashes all over the place. It’s really a good idea I wore my
glasses.

On the room, as I was heading for my seat right on the center, I saw philanthropist
Lanier Turing talking with Doctor Rex Montecillo and pediatricians Gean Rose Angel,
Margie Arcillas and Lucille Mary Jane Buhat who were one of the people assigned for
the health services of the members of our charity. There were a lot of people I did not
recognized in the room, talking and chatting. As I took a seat, the meeting immediately
started and the waiters and waitresses served the foods.

The usual lengthy discussions ended. Before I went out of the meeting room, I
mumbled thanks, shook hands and bid goodbye to the people.

It was early for the next meeting; I decided to visit my aunt at the hospital. I went back
to the car and on the way to the hospital; I bought some foods and fruits at one of the
stores we passed.

As I arrived, I saw dentists Ariel Aredidon and Jorland Puton talking with their clients.
After passing the hallway, I headed to the second room in the left and saw my Aunt
chat with surgeon Paul Dominique Nuñez.

As soon as I entered, the doctor left. I talked with my Aunt a couple of minutes before
Dr. Adrian Pestolante interrupts us. He specializes in Orthopedics. He reported to me
the situation of my Aunt’s scoliosis.

I then looked at my watch and then walked towards the door and bid goodbye to both
of them.

I saw in the hallway Pastor Warren Cadiente and Sister Aljen Arellano concerned with
the hospital’s chapel activities with Father Jay Monzolin. I then greet them.

Then I continued walking, I saw nurses Jesil Encabo, Irene Mae Flores and Mary Jane
Garcia talking with pharmacists Neil Cris Roco and Honey Grace Maglajos.

Then, near the nurse’s station, I passed OB-gynecologist Lyzel Pucong and said Hello.

I left the hospital and headed straight to the Madalay Bay Hotel. Along the way, I
received a call from my friend Larry Lanticse, a software industry owner. He asked me if
I could tell my manager that computer engineers Nellowell De Roda, Mark Julius Laput
and Roel Lumbab with computer programmers Jesil Desierto, Lijie Matango and Rejean
Saducas were going to our office to have a meeting with her for the computer literacy
project of one of her charities.
As soon as I finished conversation with Lanticse, I called my manager right away. After
talking with her, I put down my cell phone and turned on my newly bought i-pod.

After minutes of listening heart-pounding songs, I turned it off when the hotel was
already in sight.

We stopped in front of the hotel. As I was on my way inside, adjacent to it, I saw cute
and cuddly little puppies and kittens taken care by veterinarians Loui Jay Aranzado,
Virgilio Gama and Junrey Juevesano. After moments of amusement, I headed to the
Costumers’ Relation Desk and asked Ellen Bruno where’s the conference room of the
International Aeronautical Society of LA. Then she called one of the employees of the
hotel and ordered him to guide to the room only that she mumbled to him.

When I arrived to the room, I saw lady pilot Jevelou Pactor went in with flight
stewardesses Aiza Iligan and Lovely Langamon.

Moments later, Aeronautical engineer Alex Esposo arrived. Engineer Esposo talked to
me about certain things relevant to the outer space exploration ‘cause I am a Cum
Laude graduate of astronomy at NASA’s special school for selected people. NASA’s
Space Shuttle Pilot King Lloyd Abelado will be sent to space for the next journey of
mankind, now, to other galaxies.
I was struck and brought to excitement when Abelado said these words, “NASA
discovered nascent beginning of finding other existing lives besides within our solar
system. With the advance technology and the knowledge of NASA, I will spearhead this
adventure using the high-technology system of our Space Shuttle, Alien 101. And for
you, the people of the Earth, we’ll find the answers of all of you are puzzled with, about
Extra-Terrestrial life.”

The room was filled with applauses and praises.

After more or less two ours of intercourse, it peacefully ended.

As soon as the announcer proclaimed the end of the conference, I immediately went
out of the room and contacted my driver.

As I was on my way out, I saw accountants Bernadette Gomez and Ginalyn Hermoso
talking to each other. When I passed them, I hurried home.
When I was on the car, I remember the magazines I brought. I saw it on the back seat. I
took it and saw the magazine, “Totally Pinas”. Featuring in its cover the newly improved
Boracay. Inside it were stories of Chemical Engineers Edward Ruiz and Ronelo Saducas who
discovered a formula for the retrieval of the ozone layer. They were awarded of a Nobel
Prize in Chemistry.

The next page stories the Filipino Sea Explorer Jerwin Bejasa who found the lost continent,
the Atlantis.

The mag also featured the Twin Biologists Irene and Irish Jainar who found out how to
make use of bad bacteria and transform it to good.

Next, UP Professors Michelle Angga, Michelle Matugas and Rodel Gabonales, who
discovered the ways to communicate to animals.

The magazine also reports the giving of awards to economists Rommel Cantonao and
Michael Pepito, because through them, the economy of the Philippines aroused.

As I continued reading, I discovered that the Filipino Archeologists Glen Delos Reyes, Manny
Intapaya and Dindo Gerbania discovered the lost part of all-known “Missing Link”.

The last story features the achievements of Othelo Alinsasaguin as the only mountain
climber who climbed Mt. Everest by hands!

I was so amused with the achievements of Filipinos and suddenly said to myself, “I’m
proudly Filipina!”

I was not aware of my arrival not until the car stopped. The trip was like a flash.

I went out of the car and look for the keys of the house in my pouch. When I found it, I
went inside, then to the kitchen. I pulled water from the refrigerator and drank some of it.

What a tiring day?

I also ate some fruits before I went straight to the room. And when I’m listening music, I
think about the things that had happened today. It’s so wonderful to see all those friends
successful and fond of their lives.

After moments of my ‘self-talking’ part of the day, I realized I was so exhausted and now
needs rest.

Before sleeping, I turned off the lights and said some words of applause, forgiveness and
thanks to the God above.
What a wonderful future we have? Isn’t it?

As the saying says, “There is only one success – to spend your life in your own way.”
Through living your life by what your heart says, there will sure be happiness, for happiness
can be found in your heart, not in money, not in power. Built your way, and reach for the
top.

A few months ago, my friends and I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
part 2. I thought I would snivel upon watching the movie but I didn’t. What had me
crying and thinking was what the director said during an interview: We always knew
we were coming back, and this time we knew we weren't. We can now see the finish
line and we are nearing it day by day. You the juniors are to stay, and we, the
seniors batch of 2012 of PWU-JASMS, to leave.
Our batch had its ups and downs. We’ve had a lot of struggles as well as blissful
moments during our stay in JASMS. We don't know what to do, or what will happen
to us. All we know is that we are going to enter a new field, face new battles, and
meet new warriors. But no matter what happens - if we fail to win those battles, if it
so happens that those warriors become our adversaries - one thing will always be
clear and true: we will forever be a JASMITE. And a JASMITE knows how to fight. A
JASMITE will somehow find solutions to problems. A JASMITE WILL NEVER GIVE UP
NO MATTER WHAT LIFE THROWS AT HIM. We will depart our beloved school full of
dreams, hopes and aspirations for the future. There will never be a year like this so
now, we hereby declare this as our Last Will and Testament.
With the guidance and advice of our dearly loved teachers; the knowledge and
wisdom gained which cannot be replaced, we now pass on to the incoming seniors
the talents and interests of our class with the hope that, before leaving, continue
those we left unfinished.
As we finish this four- year writhe and mirth in this school, we hereby leave this last
will and testament to our heirs… The Juniors.
 The ingenuity and artistry of artists Michelle Lomibao, Ana Antonio, Nadine Dorin,
Yanelle Cayabyab, Anthea Ollero, Jazmine Ke, Daniella Celis and Quiarrah Galang.
 The unquenchable athletic enthusiasm of Mike Ubando, Daniella Ramos, Bianca
Apuya, Ira Navarra, Patrick Cabigas, Julian Velante, Anthony Estrella and Louigee
Capati .
 The accuracy and precision of scientifically minded and the enthusiasm to solve
problems and brain wrecking equations of Melvyn Manalo, Hannah De Guzman and
Charles Batugo.
 The debate skill of none other than Nelin Armamento and Kim Reyes.
 The unending supply of English words from Mugsy Pascua.
 The ability to do the body rock from Nicole Lara, Jae Bolivar, Albert Patron, Paulo
Capistrano, Jezelle De Guzman, Rebecca Abad and Camille Gabol.
 The exuberance of Daniel Santiago, Rolando Bautista Jr. Angelico Cadag, Arthur
Domingo, Chino Ligon and Lyra Quinitio.
 The knowledge of HeyLim Yang in speaking her own Korean language.
 The ability of nurturing the MS Department from Lenny Alvarez, Don Raterta,
Philip Pantoja, Marvin Inanuran, Ana Barrios, Wilbert Sy and Wesley Sy.
 The motherly care and love of Via Tabayoyong.
 The ability to cook delicious meals of Rodny Protacio, Deanna San Vicente and
Denzel Padilla.
 The capability of Rick Dela Rosa and Erwin Ching to manipulate electronic
devices.
 The astounding writing skills of Mary Basco, Nico Garcia, Jericho Miranda and
Clare Flores.
 The competence of being able to lead a group of Adriel Arguelles, Gelai Aljo and
your truly.
To the Juniors, we leave these qualities to your batch. We leave you the responsibility
as well as the privilege, the hardships, the laughter and tears, the disappointments
and achievements, and all the things we lived by. Seize the day. Don’t ever complain
that each day is going by slowly because the next thing you know, you’re graduating
from high school. We often don’t realize how fast time flies. Cherish each moment
and be grateful for the people you share it with. Be momentous. As what Anatole
France once said, “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream;
not only plan, but also believe.”
To our school, we are forever thankful for allowing us to undergo high school through
the visions and ideals bolstered in this institution as well as imparting the lessons
from our experiences.
Lastly, we nominate and appoint our beloved principal, Mrs. Diana G. Gutierrez, the
administrators, the faculty members, and all senior class advisers to be the executor
of this last will and testament.
In witness, whereof, on this memorable Junior-Senior Promenade, I, Jasmine delos
Reyes, now affix my signature on this testament, this 29th day of February, in the
Year of Our Lord, two thousand and twelve at Sofitel Plaza Manila, Pasay City,
Philippines.
Peace, Love, Spartans.
