TAM INTERNATIONAL NTO.01.C Page 6 of 11

16. Make up thread half of 2” HOSE to Hammer Union on Standpipe.

17. Tie chain around derrick leg and secure with clasp provided.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

The HOSE is pressurized during circulating; therefore, it should be inspected as

per the inspection procedure in Section 4.

18. Make up 2” HOSE/Hammer Union to Swivel attached to SUB.

19. Tie chain around blocks and secure with clasp provided.

20. Make up quick connect of Inflation Hose to CE tool.

21. Make up Inflation Hose with additional 50’ segments to CE pump.

22. Remove THREAD PROTECTORS (700-NT-64) from lower pin end of packer
and box end of Flex Hose/Check Valve.

23. Make up Flex Hose/Check Valve on lower end of packer.

24. Torque connection to 3,000 ft-lbs.

25. Prepare pump and tools as per CE tool instructions.

Hose Inspection Procedure
(700-NT-70)

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

The following specification provides information about the components of this

assembly and outlines the inspection and maintenance procedure that should be
performed to keep the HOSE assembly in optimum and safe operating condition.

1. The 2” HOSE used in this assembly is a reinforced neoprene and hypalon Hose
rated at 3,000 psi working pressure and a minimum burst pressure of 10,000 psi.
The temperature range is -40°F to +200°F and it is resistant to oils and other
drilling fluids.

2. To prolong the service life of the HOSE, Do Not bend or flex the HOSE to a
diameter smaller than 36”. Do Not subject HOSE to tension or torque. This can
place excessive stresses on the reinforcement and severely reduces the ability of
the HOSE to withstand pressure.

3. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and heat sources. Store HOSE assemblies
out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place.

4. Between every job, visually inspect the assembly for:

a. Leaks at fittings or in HOSE.

b. Damaged, cut or abraded cover.
c. Kinked, crushed, flattened or twisted HOSE.
d. Hard, stiff, heat cracked or charred HOSE.
e. Blistered, soft, degraded or loose cover
f. Cracked, damaged or badly corroded fittings.
g. Fitting slippage on HOSE.
h. Loose nuts and corroded chains on the hobbles.
i. Breaks in HOSE cover near swaged connectors.
j. Missing or damaged rubber seals in the hammer unions.
k. Loose or leaking threaded connections.
l. Loose or missing inflation HOSE tie wraps.

5. Prior to storage, the threads and inner surfaces of the hammer unions should be
doped or coated with a rust preventative and the HOSE should be flushed out with
fresh water.

6. After every other job or sooner if suspicious conditions exist, pressure test the
hose to 3,000 psi for 15 minutes to confirm the HOSE as safe and operational.

TAM INTERNATIONAL NTO.01.C Page 9 of 11

7. Any HOSE and/or assembly that fails pressure testing or whose visual inspection
reveals substantial damage shall be replaced or repaired immediately.

Non Top Drive Adaptor Inspection Procedure

(700-NT-11)

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

The following specification outlines the inspection and maintenance procedure
that should be performed to keep the assembly in optimum and safe operating
condition.

1. Visually inspect the welds that connect the “U”shaped shackle to the bottom plate
for cracks or other signs of failure.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Every 6 months or if suspicious conditions exist, the welds should be magnetic

particle inspected to certify their integrity.

2. Inspect the rubber seal and machined sealing surfaces on the hammer union
connection, for damage. During storage, the threads and the inner surfaces should
be coated with suitable rust preventives.

3. Inspect the swivel connections to verify its fitness and function. Grease the
swivel using the zerk fitting on the elbow.

4. Inspect the threaded connections for damage and sealing integrity.

5. After every other job or sooner if suspicious conditions exist, pressure test the
assembly and connections to 3,000 psi for 15 minutes to confirm assembly
integrity.

6. Inspect the attached chains for cracked welds, bent links and other signs of
damage.

TAM INTERNATIONAL NTO.01.C Page 10 of 11

7. Inspect the overall condition of the entire assembly for severe corrosion or signs
of excessive wear and damage.

8. Clean and dope threads on adjustment nuts to maintain ease of function.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

Immediately repair or replace any components that show signs of damage or

suspicious condition.
