Sap PP Scheduling Intro Guide For Beginners
Scheduling
Lead time scheduling takes value from routing operation times (setup,
machine, labor, etc.) to calculate operation start date, start time, finish date
and time.
When we concert planned order to a production order then system will
automatically switch basic date scheduling to lead time scheduling.
When we convert planned order to production order then lead time
scheduling capture the planned order date which we have maintain in
Inhouse production time in MRP- 2 View and also capture routing
operation time which we have maintain in – setup time, Machine time, and
Labor time after capture all the data and dates then system will give actual
production order start date and production order end date.
Lead time scheduling calculates = Inhouse production time + Routing
operation time output – We get production order start date and finished
date.
Lead time scheduling also determine on which date work center are free
mean lead time scheduling also determine capacity requirement.
1) Backward scheduling
Once MRP has run successfully, MRP is always do the backward
scheduling.
During backward scheduling system will consider inhouse production time
from MRP- 2 view and goods receipt processing time also system will
consider scheduling margin key (opening period) and after calculates
above mentioned dates and then system will give order start and order
finished date. (Available date)
2) Forward scheduling.
During forward scheduling system will consider inhouse production time
and goods receipt processing time.
And system will give order start date and order finished date.
During forward scheduling order start date is today and order finished date
is in future.
A scheduling form in which the operations of an order are scheduled
forward starting from the planned start date.
Using this scheduling type, the scheduled start and the scheduled finish
date of the order are calculated.
For the start date, the system uses the beginning of the period when the
production quantities were entered. From this start date, the system
calculates in a forward direction to determine the finish date.
The system displays the order quantities on the production start date.
In current date system performs forward scheduling and uses the current
date (Today’s date) as the start basic date.
Scheduling margin key is the extra buffer time at the operation level.
Scheduling margin key is key for FERT /SEMI FG material where you
define the production order floats to determine the production dates in
Production Order /Planned Order.
Here you define certain time set up in workdays which are one of the
criteria to arrive your Production Dates.
(Basic Dates/Schedule Dates-CO02-Production Order header).
Opening period –
In this period system will calculate number of workdays only not holidays
and subtracted from the order start date to determine the creation date the
opening period can be used by the MRP controller as on extra buffer time.
The opening period is only used in backward scheduling.
Release period –
The release period also considered the time takes from creating a
production order to it’s release due to internal company process and control
in place.
