FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION


What is a Focus Group Discussion?
A gathering of people with similar backgrounds to discuss a specific
topic.
A qualitative research method and technique for collecting data.
A Focus Group Discussion
Let’s use focus group discussion as a method of
collecting data!
It is primarily used in Qualitative research due to it being a discussion for
narratives.
It is able to gather detailed opinions and feedback about a topic or a product.
It can explore attitudes and perceptions.
It may generate ideas and solutions.
Typically ranges from 6 to 12 people.
Discussions should be recorded or have notes taken.

When do we use focus groups?

We use focus group discussion when exploring a


range of ideas, it is also used for gathering data to
get more in-depth, insights and expierence in the
topic.
It is also used to talk with groups of people about
products, policies or health issues. They help
gather opinions and ideas through the group.
