Project Objective:

The objective of this project is to develop a Virtual Reality Navigation Assistant that
enhances the mobility and independence of visually impaired individuals by providing real-time
navigational assistance in a virtual reality environment. This system aims to improve spatial awareness,
enhance mobility, promote independence, increase accessibility, and ensure safety and comfort for
users.

scope:

This project aims to develop a Virtual Reality (VR) Navigation Assistant for visually impaired
individuals, leveraging the sensors available in smartphones to provide real-time navigational
guidance. The system will use the smartphone's accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer to track
the user's movements and orientation. It will also utilize the smartphone's camera to detect obstacles
and map the user's surroundings in the virtual environment. The app will provide audio cues and haptic
feedback to guide the user through their environment, including turn-by-turn directions to a specified
destination. The interface will be designed to be accessible and user-friendly for individuals with
varying degrees of visual impairment.

The development timeline includes research and design, implementation of sensor integration and
