Breakdancing
Breakdance is a dancing style that comes from the hip-hop and
rap cultures. Puerto Rican and African-American communities
started this type of dance in the 1970s. At that time, it became very
popular in New York City, and later, teenage boys practiced it in
the streets in other big cities in the United States.
Some movements come from the Kung-Fu martial art and other
gymnastics techniques. Dancers always do complicated movements

They are present in the gastronomy of the four regions of the

called “Maito.” They prepare it with fish from the river (catfish,
pintadillo) and wrap it in plantain leaves. In the highlands, it is
more common to eat trout. Fishing for trout is also a nice activity

Many years ago, there was a woman called Mary Anning who

time, these fossils and seashells were very appreciated where she lived.
Her family used to live on that. One day, her father died and Mary had

Lesson C

Communication and Cultural Awareness

Social Studies

What does food security mean? Will your community always have enough to eat?

Food Security

Value: Environmental and health care

In order to prevent health and environmental problems, some governments

take economic and social measures that guarantee enough food and
medicine for the population by using the resources harmoniously.
Freepik

Did you know that there are policies and laws related to food security
which ensure that there is access to enough food for the population?
This started in the time of pharaohs, in the early Egyptian times. This
culture used to interpret their dreams and know how they could provide
the population with food to avoid famine. Those interpretations used
to work well so that they could save the food in prosperous times for the
difficult ones.
