DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY

1.1. INTRODUCTION.

1.2. GOALS.
1.2.1. GENERAL OBJECTIVE.
The objective of this project is to carry out definitive studies for the groundwater exploitation
system, through pumping wells; for the project to Expand and Improve the drinking water system,
sewerage and treatment plant of the city of Anta-Izcuchaca; district of Anta, Province of Anta –
Cusco.

1.2.2. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES.

 Carry out the planning of the drilling system and the construction technology of 03 pumping
wells.
 Carry out the design of the pumping system.
 Determine the characteristics of the pumps and the pumping chamber.
 Prepare the work execution schedule.
 Present plans at the execution level of the structures specialty.
 Prepare the technical specifications for this project.
 Prepare the metering sheet for the items raised in this project.

1.3. BACKGROUND.
Since 1962, when the Peruvian State officially began the basic rural sanitation program, numerous
water supply systems have been built on the coast, mountains and jungle. Currently, there is no
complete knowledge of the state of the aforementioned systems, nor of the quality of the service
they provide.

Experience and specialized literature report that the majority of water supply systems installed in
rural areas stop fulfilling their function within a few years of coming into operation, directly
impacting the health of consumers. It is also recognized that the quality of water for human
consumption depends on some variables, citing as the most important the sources of supply, the
characteristics of the works and the habits in the management of water resources.

The Provincial Municipality of Anta has been making important efforts to substantially improve the
basic drinking water and sewage services of the city of Anta-Izcuchaca. In this sense, Municipality
officials have been managing the execution of this important drinking water and sewage project,
aimed at improving existing services, as well as expanding their coverage.

1.4. GENERALITIES.
1.4.1. LOCATION.
The area of influence of the Project that includes the city of Anta-Izcuchaca is located in:

1.4.2. CLIMATOLOGICAL CONDITIONS.
Climatic conditions are influenced by the El Niño current, which is manifested by rainy periods with
torrential characteristics and high temperatures, which give rise to a high rate of evaporation.
Likewise, there are periods of extensive rainfall and drought.

1.4.3. GROUND RELIEF.
The Project area offers a relief with a gentle and rugged slope.

1.4.4. ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES.

 Agriculture: It is an agricultural area par excellence, especially for corn, potatoes, quinoa, peas,
barley, kiwicha and others.
 Livestock: Raising of cattle, goats and small birds.
 Tourist Resources: There are dry forests as the main attraction.
 The peasant population has income based on the volume of their crops and the prices of
agricultural products in the market; which are generally low. This situation keeps them in a state
of poverty and unemployment, generating social problems such as:

- Migration of young people to the city in search of work.

- Unemployment in rural and urban areas.
- Significant school dropout.
- Malnutrition in childhood.
1.4.5. ACCESSIBILITY
Access to the study area is by land according to the following itinerary:

1.5. DESCRIPTION OF WORK.
The project considers developing a drinking water system through the construction of groundwater
collections, through 03 pumping wells, considering that the proposals must satisfy the demand
required for supplying the cistern and its subsequent derivation to the reservoir; for which 03
pumping stations are considered, detailed below:

 EB01 Colosseum Pumping Station:

Exploitation Height: (30 m below the natural terrain)
Approximate land area: 250 m2.
Physical Goal: Construction of underground water exploitation well, electromechanical pump
installations; and delivery of water resources to the wellhead. The pump will be sized to be able
to carry the groundwater to the planned storage system.

 EB02 Carmen Pumping Station:

Exploitation Height: (30 m below the natural terrain)
Approximate land area: 200 m2.
Physical Goal: Construction of underground water exploitation well, electromechanical pump
installations; and delivery of water resources to the wellhead. The pump will be sized to be able
to carry the groundwater to the planned storage system.

 EB03 Pichoq 01 Pumping Station:

Exploitation Height: (30 m below the natural terrain).
Approximate land area: 80 m2.
Physical Goal: Construction of underground water exploitation well, electromechanical pump
installations; and delivery of water resources to the wellhead. The pump will be sized to be able
to carry the groundwater to the planned storage system.

1.5.1. WELL DRILLING AND EQUIPMENT

The 03 pumping wells will be made through manual excavations, with a diameter of 1.27m and a
height of 0.60 m (height of each concrete ring).
Once the desired depth has been achieved, we proceed to place the concrete rings:

1.5.1.1. DRILLING SYSTEM PLANNING, CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY

A. CONSTRUCTIVE PROCESS:

1- Geometric Location:

It is locating the exact place where said element should be built.

2- Diagram of its Diameter

We draw the circle where we are going to cut for the excavation.

3- Digging your first ring or body

We must ensure that when cutting and polishing the walls, we preserve the initial shape well,
without allowing walls with over-excavations to be created.

We must keep in mind that this way of constructing the rings

obeys a functional design to make their construction easier both
for the formwork and for their casting.

4- Placement of Rings

 Placing the first ring: To place the first ring there are no
major difficulties, it is enough to have the ring made,
then mount a tripod to raise it and place it in the exact
position, always verifying the levels.

 Excavation for the second ring: We must ensure that

when cutting and polishing the walls, we preserve the
initial shape well, without allowing walls with over-

excavations to be created. Once the desired depth has been achieved, we proceed to place the
next concrete ring.

 Placing the second ring: For this operation we hook, in the openings that the rings have, with
three equidistant chains and one at a time. Next, they are lowered into the water well,
superimposing one on top of the other perpendicularly and level until they reach the height of
the natural terrain.

 The placement of the rings follows the same process as for the first ring and the second ring,
until reaching the proposed height in each well.

To open the well where the rings will be inserted, specialized labor will be used with special tools
and equipment for deep excavation.
To open the pumping wells, it will be done using specialized labor, with appropriate tools and
equipment and technology that guarantees the safety of the work on site, depending on the nature of
the aquifer.

1.6. EXECUTION TIME.

A period of 90 calendar days has been established for the execution of the project, detailed in the
works execution schedule.

1.7. DESIGN PRINCIPLES.

1.7.1. WELL EXCAVATION AND EQUIPMENT.
a) Excavation
For the excavation, qualified labor will be used, provided with appropriate tools for the different
materials to be traversed and equipment for the extraction of material, which will be taken into
account according to the different excavation heights.
The diameter of the drilling throughout its depth will be 1.47 m.
b) Placing concrete rings
Ready Mixed Concrete Ring
Prefabricated concrete elements must be built in accordance with the standards given for
concrete and reinforcing steel, with the specifications and measurements given in the
corresponding plans.

Each ring must be placed after the excavation has been done.

c) equipment
Each Well will consist of an automatic pumping system, composed of 01 three-phase
submersible pumps with a cooling jacket, which will be accompanied by 01 backup pump with
the same characteristics with a working voltage of 220V, in addition to a control panel that will
automate the system operation.

1.8. REFERENCE BUDGET.

The Cost of the Project amounts to the amount of Five hundred seven thousand five hundred fifty-
seven and 46/100 Nuevos Soles (S/.507,557.46), according to the following structure:
