Round 3: Turn your work so that the wrong side is facing you. Attach color 3 to any corner
ch2 space. Ch 2, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc. This is your starting dc2tog. (Ch1, skip 1 dc, dc in
next dc) twice. In ch2 space work: dc, ch2, dc. (Ch1, skip next dc, dc in next dc) 3 times. Ch1.
In ch2 space work: dc, ch2, dc. (Ch1, skip next dc, dc in next dc) 3 times. Ch1. In ch2 space
work: dc, ch2, dc. (Ch1, skip next dc, dc in next dc) twice. Ch1, skip next dc, start dc2tog in
next dc, finish in ch2 space. Ch2, turn work. (Right image is before the ch2 and turn).
Round 4: Dc in next ch1 space, and dc in each dc and ch1 space across. In corner: 2dc, ch2,
2dc. Dc in every ch2 sp and dc across to next corner. This is the top of the design and you will
be adding the bobble circle you made of color 2 into your work. In corner, dc. Dc2tog with
one half in the corner you’re working on and the other half in any ch1 sp of the circle. See
images below. Make sure when you add the circle that you keep the yo on your hook so that
you end up with 4 loops on your hook before completing the dc2tog. Make sure the circle is
right side facing you.
Now you will be working out of the ch1 spaces on the bobble circle. Dc in same ch1 sp. (3dc
in next ch1 sp. 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next ch1 space for corner) 3 times. 3 dc in next dc. Now you
are back to the starting ch1 space. Dc into it, then do another dc2tog with one half on the
circle and the other half on the main piece of work into the same ch2 space as before. Again
make sure you have 4 loops on your hook before completing the dc2tog. Dc in same ch2
space.

To complete the round, dc in each dc and ch1 space across. 2dc, ch2, 2dc in corner. Dc in
each dc and ch1 space across until you get to the last ch1 space. Dc2tog in this ch1 space
and the top of the dc2tog of previous row. Fasten off color 3.
Round 5: Turn work (wrong side). Attach color 4 to last st on previous round. Ch2, sk next st,
dc in next st (counts as dc2tog). Ch1, (sk next st, dc in next st, ch1) twice, in corner: dc, ch2,
dc. Ch1, (sk next st, dc in next st, ch1) 5 times. For inner angle: Sk next st, dc2tog skipping a
stitch in between. Ch1, sk next st, dc in next st around, working (dc, ch2, dc) in corners and
dc2tog in inner angles with a skipped stitch in between. On last side (after last corner), ch1,
(sk next st, dc in next st, ch1) twice, sk next st, dc2tog in next st and in last st, skipping a stitch
in between. Ch2, turn work.
Round 6: Dc in first ch1 sp and in each dc and ch1 sp across, working (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in each
corner. For inner angle: dc2tog in next dc and dc after dc2tog on previous row. Make sure
you’re skipping the ch2 spaces and only working the dc2tog on the dc stitches of the
previous row. Continue working dc in each dc and ch1 sp across until you get to the very top
corner of your work. Here you’ll add a bobble circle of color 3 and crochet around it in the

same manner as Round 4. Once you get back to the main work, continue working dc in each
dc and ch1 sp across and (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in each corner, and a dc2tog across inner angle.
Dc2tog in second to last and last st. Fasten off color 4.
You will make as many starting pieces as you want your work to be wide. I made 7 pieces and
each of mine measure about from the widest points (bottom corners).
Once you get to the last corner on round 6 of the next starting piece, 2 dc in corner, ch1.
loosen loop and remove hook. Place the previous starting piece above the current one,
matching up the corners. Insert your hook from top to bottom in the corner of the top starting
piece. Pull the loop from the lower piece through the ch2 sp of the top piece. Ch1, 2dc back
into the starting piece you were working on and finish the side with dc in each dc and ch1 sp
and dc2tog in last ch1 sp and st.
Keep making starting pieces and connecting them until you have your desired width. For a
good sized blanket I usually make 7-8 starting pieces.

Row 7: (wrong side) Starting at the far right corner ch2 sp,
add color 5 (or next color) and ch2. Sk next st, dc in next st.
(ch1, sk next st, dc in next st) across. At the inner angle,
dc2tog skipping a st (the dc2tog on previous row) in between
just like on rounds 3 and 5. Work (dc, ch2, dc) in corners.
When you get near the join of the starting pieces, stop when
you’ve completed 4 dc + ch1. To get to the next starting
piece you’re going to do a dc3tog: Sk next st, yo, insert hook
in next st and pull up a loop. YO, insert hook into join on
previous row, pull up a loop. YO, sk next st, insert hook in next
st and pull up a loop. You should have 4 loops on your hook. YO and pull through all 4 loops.
Continue with the pattern of sk next st, ch1, dc. (dc, ch2, dc) in corners and dc2tog in inner
angles, skipping a st in between. End the row with a dc2tog in 3rd from last st and last st,
skipping a st in between. Turn work and ch2.

Row 8: (right side) Dc in first ch1 sp and in each dc across, like row 6. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in
corners and dc2tog in inner angles, skipping a st in between. Once you get to the top points
of the starting pieces you’ll add in a bobble circle of the previous color like rounds 4 and 6.
Once you get to the bottom point you’ll make a dc2tog in the dcs on either side of the
dc3tog of previous row (pic 1). Continue making a dc in each dc and ch1sp and dc2tog in
inner angle.
When you get to the next corner, make 2dc and ch1 into it. Loosen the loop and remove the
hook. Insert your hook from right to left in the ch2 sp of the matching corner on the previous
starting piece. Place loop on your hook (pic 2). Pull the loop through the ch2 sp. Ch1 and 2dc
in the corner you were working on. Continue with the pattern of dc in each dc and ch1 sp.
Dc2tog in inner angles and (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in each corner. Make sure to join the lowest
corners together between the starting pieces. To end row, dc2tog in second to last st and last
st. Turn.
