NOTIFICATION - MOP-UP ROUND OF COUNSELLING, JENPAS(UG)-2020

WBJEEB has already completed two rounds of counselling for JENPAS(UG)-2020


candidates, after which some vacancies still exist in some institutes/courses. As such, in
line with section 10.0 (page-7) of the ‘Notification regarding counselling for JENPAS(UG)-
2020 candidates’ No. WBE/CN-23/20, Dated: 08/10/2020, it has been decided by the
Appropriate Authority that another Mop-Up round will be conducted.

The rules and guidelines for the Mop-Up round are given below. Candidates registering
for Mop-Up round must go through the rules and the notices published in this regard very
carefully. Once registered for Mop-Up round, it will be construed that the candidates
agree to all the terms and conditions mentioned.

Rules and guidelines


1.0 Basic rules:
a) The Mop-Up round will be in centralized online process only.
b) The Mop-Up round will be for admission in all the institutes/courses as was
in round-1 and 2.
c) All candidates who successfully registered for JENPAS(UG)-2020
counselling and completed document verification and have obtained
General Merit Rank (GMR) are eligible for participating in the Mop-Up
round.
d) A candidate can participate in the Mop-Up round even if he/she has
been allotted a seat or paid seat acceptance fee or already completed
admission in any institute.
e) There is no separate fee for participating in the Mop-Up round.
f) There will be only one Mop-Up round and it will be the last and final round
of counselling conducted by WBJEEB.
g) Allotment in the Mop-Up round will be based on the new seat matrix
provided by the appropriate Authority for the purpose.
2.0 Mop-Up round process:

a) Candidates will have to log-in and opt for participating in the Mop-Up round.
Participation in the Mop-Up round is not automatic for all.
b) Once a candidate opts for the Mop-Up round, it cannot be reversed.
c) They need to give their choices of institutions/courses afresh for Mop-
Up round. If the candidate has completed physical reporting to any institute,
the same institute/branch will not appear in the choice list.
d) If a candidate is allotted a seat in the Mop-Up round, his/her earlier
allotment/ admission is automatically cancelled. The candidate can never
claim his/her earlier seat back. On the other hand, if the candidate does
not get any allotment in Mop-Up round, his/her present seat will remain
valid if he/she has completed physical reporting.
e) If a candidate has already taken admission in any institute, WBJEEB will not
have any responsibility in arranging the refund of the fees etc. that the
candidate has paid to that institute.
f) The rules of allotment, domicile, reservation, eligibility etc. remains same as
they were in rounds 1 and 2.
g) Provisional allotment will be declared on a prescheduled date. Candidates
will login to check their allotment.
h) If the candidate was not allotted any seat in round 1 or 2, he/she must pay
seat acceptance fee (₹200 for allotment in Govt. and Govt. aided Institutes
and ₹3000 for allotment in Pvt. Institutes) and download the provisional
admission letter, which is provisional and is subject to successful physical
verification of documents by the concerned institute.
i) If the candidate was allotted a seat in round 1 or 2 and he/she paid the seat
acceptance fee then he/she has to pay only the positive differential amount
of seat acceptance fee, if any. (On the other hand, if any amount is refundable,
the same will be refunded on-line to the candidate’s bank account in due
course). The candidates can then download their revised provisional
admission letter.
9.0 General Rules:
a) Physical reporting: After downloading the provisional admission letter, the
candidates will have to report to the institute within the give schedule and
complete all formalities, failing which it will be construed that he/she is
not interested in the admission, his/her allotment/admission will be
cancelled.
b) Withdrawal: There is no option of withdrawal in Mop-Up round.
c) Remission of seat acceptance fee: The seat acceptance fee paid by the
candidate will be transferred to the respective Institute after closure of
physical reporting. In case the candidate fails to finally join the institute and
continue, he/she will have to apply to that institute for any refund. WBJEEB
will not have any responsibility / liability in this regard and will not entertain
any communication in this connection.
d) Grievance Redressal: Candidates can contact the Help Desk (1800 1023
781, 1800 3450 050) for help/clarification/grievance if required.

15.0 Legal Jurisdiction: All matters pertaining to conduct of WBJEE – 2020 e-


counselling shall fall within the jurisdiction of Calcutta only. The Board will not
be a party pertaining to any dispute arising in the process of admission to any
course of study through WBJEE – 2020.
